A Lesson I learned from A Cheesecake Factory: How to define your voice, keep it and create success!

(my son love for cheesecake but his smile is priceless!!)

I was flipping the pages of my favorite magazine Reader’s Digest and I saw an article about the very famous restaurant chain Cheesecake Factory. My family loves to celebrate  birthdays in a Cheesecake factory because we know each of us can enjoy a special treat that day, like Tuxedo cheesecake, great food and a relaxing ambiance!

In this article David Overton shared how he had turned his parents business into a billion dollar restaurant chain. The cheesecake became the winner!  It all started with a recipe David’s mother  had…His mother was asked to make cheesecakes for her husband’s boss as Christmas Gifts.  He loved it so much that he asked her to bake them for his friends. His mom started making cheesecakes and deliver them to restaurants in Detroit area!  His parents had a vision to start a cheesecake empire and they did.  They sold everything and moved to L.A to launch their dream business!  They believed it would change their life…

And it did….

Their cheesecake brought them best publicity and  attracted the right investors to open a restaurant. An accountant by the name Bill Kling believed in them and raised enough funds to start a restaurant. He believed in the product- cheesecake which he often enjoyed. Do you surround yourself with  believers in YOU and your products?

The dream came true. Their decision to move across the country and start a new life was the best decision they have ever made!

Feb 25, 1978 they opened very first restaurant without a sign, an ad or grand opening in the upscale part of Beverly Hills.  Still people stood there waiting in line and restaurant was packed!  Their belief in what they had to offer and simplicity of the menu attracted clients and kept them coming.

The product success became their hottest publicity. People- their customers created the best reputation for them.  As David said ” it is all location, location, location. But once you grow- it is people, people, people!”

According to the research, today this restaurant chain is a billion dollar chain, and it costs 7.5 million dollars to open a new Cheesecake Factory.

Let me ask you a question…

What is your dream? What is your voice telling you to do? Do you listen to it?

Remember that if you follow your inner calling, your true voice will be heard by millions. You will attract the clients you deserve. Your belief in your product, service and yourself will create the light and the brightness around you that people will be attracted to your confidence, faith and charisma.. You will create an irresistible publicity!

Simplicity of what you have to offer, the same way a Cheesecake Factory started, will attract clients and keep them coming back! The key is to know your flagship product and build around it as a piece of cheesecake.  Start with the sweetest offer and add more as you go…Remember one important factor I always encourage my clients to focus- know your persona…What do you want to be known for in  your community and around the world?

Then you will NOT have to deal with issues like “Can you hear me? Do you see me? Do you believe in me?” Your passion will become your voice. Your passion in what you do will break all the barriers and be your secret weapon in overcoming challenges. Your passion will define your voice and be the key to your success.  Success will be  your publicity!
Enjoy the week!

Can you still respark flame in your business? Yep, believe it!

Successful publicity is like a good marriage. You got to keep the flame burning and work on it. Nurture. Be in love with who you are first and know what your passions are! “– Tatyana Gann

But what about your business. Is it becoming dull, not interesting?  Are you dragging your feet into your office and turning laptop and your bright shiny screen comes on and your brain goes BLANK. You feel stuck. You feel a creative block. Well. It happens with everyone.  Resparking flame in your business no matter if it is coaching, info product or just service based business can be done by treating with gentle attitude and not beating yourself for failures.

Today I want to talk to you about the biggest pain every business owner is dealing with- CLIENTS. If you are rolling out a new coaching program, or launching a new product, you need unique visitors who hopefully become your clients. Right? If you are interested in increasing traffic to your site you still want to know where to get them and how to get them to your site.

You wonder if you need media coverage and you get headache. You are not PR expert, you are far from it because you are only good at what yo know. That is fine. People fear of the word Public Relations short PR because it sounds too uptight, unattainable but to  understand what it truly means I want to provide you a deeper understanding of how PR online strategies work that you will give you A-ha moment!

Take any business owner, such as yourself, no matter if you have an offline business or an online business you are dying to know how to find the clients and how to keep them. Right? You might have purchased dozens of the marketing books, read old fashioned PR manuals that look like ancient Egyptian manuscripts that I am sure you are about to throw in the trash right now.
You know down deep inside that they worked for you few years ago, but they do not work today. That is the TRUTH. To be honest with you, you must know the truth because as they say it will set you FRE-E. You deserve to be fre-e of all the garbage and get the real proven marketing education and resources in one nice package without being bombarded with every course sold online and every GURU teaching you what they really DON’T know.
You can put MONEY in your bank account using press releases combined with other PR and social media tools if you do them right. Of course we cannot guarantee results. But in order for press releases to work right you must have the right combination. Imagine a formula that will work very beautifully for your business!
You must research your market. You must know three things
1. Your customers values
2. Your customers thoughts and what they feel
3. Where do they go to shop. You must know your competition and your competitor’s customers!
That is your IDEAL client. I have a simple 3 L Rule: Listen, Learn, Language.  Listen to what your customers say in their networks and other online communities. Learn the Language they speak and speak on their terms. Who cares if you are have dozens of Ph.Ds and master’s degrees in Business. Sorry for being blunt with you. Nobody cares a squat today. If you do not know your customer, they will leave you and you never make a dime.
Once you get it, you figured out the main part of the puzzle that some business owners do not even approach. They are too afraid and they fail because they are so hungry and they will get whatever comes their way. They lose by trying to satisfy every customer.
Once you know your customers and where they gather and what they say and how they say it you become a part of their tribe. They trust you with your knowledge, how YOU think and even short press release you write (imagine only about 500 words) can compel them to put their name on your list and even better reach out for the plastic card we all love and gently enter 16 digits and buy it RIGHT THEN.
The bonus for you is that they share your link about your product with their friends and biz partners and just scream on Twitter and Facebook that they found a gold mine! They feel like they found their twin- you spoke their language.
You get 3rd party publicity and believe me it can have a domino effect.
I want you to “set the web on fire” because it can be done with SIMPLE ways that can spark the flame!

Fall, Mocha, My Russian America…

Fall is  here… I love the fall season. I was  at Starbucks cafe in Barnes and Nobles the other day, reading, researching, writing and enjoying my caramel mocha. I love the smell of books, hearing the sound of the coffee and espresso machines, and listening to people ordering their coffee. I felt like I was in the movie “You’ve Got Mail”, which I’ve seen countless times and still love to watch it. I remember one of the main characters saying, “We have so many choices of  coffee and we allow coffee to define who we are!”  Do the choices we make even about the coffee we drink, put limitations on our mind or define our self esteem?

What do you think?

I love the scent of the fall air, preparing for the season of harvest and enjoying the beauty of the red, gold and bronze colors of the leaves in the mountains. I live in Tennessee, and the fall here is the most beautiful time of the year! I feel more inspired to write, create and feel productive. You can just smell the crispness in of the air! It is a time of year when we realize we have 90 days till the end of the year, and we also begin to think about Christmas. We feel pushed to make changes, overcome adversities and clean up the mess in our life!

Fall is a beautiful time to celebrate life! I often make an apple pie as we celebrate the beginning of the fall season. I also buy yellow or red mums and have friends over!

When it comes to overcoming adversities, the cold seasons of our life, I wanted to share an excerpt from my upcoming book: Tatyana Gann: My Russian America. I hope it can inspire you, encourage you to follow your intuition, passions, and do what you feel best for yourself, to be yourself.

It was a cool, spring  afternoon when my life changed forever. Little did I know that 3 months later I would be stepping foot on American soil and meet people who would impact my life, my decisions and my passions. I would soon rediscover my purpose!

That April afternoon began as a regular day in my life, spending time with my grandparents in their brownstone flat, when out of the blue, I received a call from one of  my college professors telling me to get dressed immediately and be on campus in 2 hours. I was given an opportunity to take a test to to see if I could go to America. I was given a chance… I had to take a risk… totally unprepared, not knowing what to expect. I took a huge leap of faith,  got in a local little trolley and arrived to the college campus in Ufa, Russia. I was not yet even 19 years old!

I think about the courage, the strong belief I had in myself and the belief in the future that I could  not see. But… I could see myself being in America, speaking English,  traveling, teaching and having an impact on people’s lives. That was a HUGE dream of mine and honestly, a strong belief that I would be here, in America. I expected only a YES from test results and expected nothing less. Maybe I thought myself crazy at the time, but it was true… It was the REAL me. I was young and naive, but I also had a strong will and determination. My grandmother called it “Russian Ambition”, meaning that I had a  triple dose of ambition!

Only later would I understand that I was allowing the good things into my life… what about you?

Fast forward to 3 months later… A Boeing 767 landed in New York City’s JFK airport… and there was little me; standing in a long line with two suitcases and going through customs. The first words I heard after they examined my documents were, “Welcome to America.” For some people, these words means nothing, but for me it was special. I had very little with me… only 200 dollars which was borrowed from my family and friends, and a pair of brand new platform sandals, which I was wearing until someone stepped on them on the escalator, breaking my heel (at that point, I was too tired to be very angry!).

At that point, I had no money, a new- broken pair of shoes, 200 bucks hidden in my bra and no clue where I was going, or who I would become. All I knew was that I was proud of what I had achieved; I had come to the United States to study and I was happy and determined to make my family proud of me.  Honestly, I was not good in English. I could write, read and had a pretty good understanding of grammar… but, I was scared to speak with Americans. I remember the cold sweat running down my back as I was talking to a school adviser. I was extremely nervous and at times embarrassed, but determined!

I had major fears that I had to overcome… and I did, in time. I would call my mom on weekends when the phone rate to Russia was one dollar per minute. Can you believe that?!? I paid a lot of money from my school funds just to tell my mom “I love you, I am okay.” My mom would comfort me and say, “YOU made it so far, do not be afraid, just read more and learn to love writing.” I honestly hated to write. I felt it was the one fear I had to overcome. I thought I was not good enough at writing, even considering the fact I had so many writers in my family. I had convinced myself  I was not a writer and did not plan to become one. Very little did I know that I had within me a wild writing gene, just waiting to be unleashed!!  I was only able to discover that side of myself much later in life… and here I am, writing for you!

I learned to trust strangers and I learned to love people who loved me for who I was. I went from being a shy, ugly duckling, to a strong, graceful swan… a strong woman who learned the main principles of success: be crazy, believe in what is to come, learn to cry, learn to trust, take a leap of faith and jump high! Life and business success is not about skill sets or the talents we possess, but how truly we believe in ourselves, our determination to connect with the right people and posses an attitude of gratitude!

I learned to trust myself and listen to my voice within. I learned to make decisions, even though some were not the best… but they are still mine. I realized it was an honor that God gave me to make my own decisions and make choices which are best for me.  Even with being a mom… I know it can sometimes be a challenge, but it is a rewarding one!

Have a beautiful day!

David and Goliath, Slingshot, Stones and Your Publicity!

You’re  probably wondering, “Tatyana, what does the story of David and Goliath have to do with my online publicity?”

A few days ago, I had a conversation with my friend and we discussed starting coaching on more topics such as publicity, pr campaigns and SEO. My friend said, “Tatyana, so many people get lost in trying to figure what to write, then how to write… they get lost and frustrated. It would be great if you start teaching what you know, because you can show them the exact formula and steps to achieve greater exposure.”

Have you ever thought that you need to become a super duper copywriter to write effective publicity? How can I write a story? How do I come up with topic ideas?  We become afraid, our mind goes blank and nothing happens with our creative flow!  That flow begins to look like congested traffic on a highway. We feel FEAR creeping in… We suddenly begin to create scenarios in our head about what it would be be like if our story flops. What if no one reads it? What if no one pays attention?  What tools do we need to have to add that extra buzz?

In the publicity world, every business owner, celebrity or average Joe wants to be famous for something. We go out of our way to do something EXTRAORDINARY and turn ourselves inside out to prove that we are the BEST.  We seek the latest and greatest marketing and publicity tools to give ourselves an extreme makeover. We feel that if we ONLY could get the latest and the greatest thing, it will equip us to be better at our business.

One day, I was reading the Bible story of David and the giant Goliath.  David was just an average guy in the eyes of everyone.  No one saw him as someone great… even his own family did not see him as someone special! However, it did not stop him from seeing his own talents and greatness.  He believed that he had EVERYTHING he needed to succeed in his life. As the future king, one of his biggest enemies was Goliath. Goliath was the tool which God used to make him David, the KING. And with God working through him, of course David defeated the giant! When reading this story, you discover that David did  not have much to defeat the giant with… only a sling and 5 small stones. Not many powerful weapons you would say, but he had FAITH and took ACTION! You do not need to be a chosen one to win a victory.

What are your stones? What is in your tool box? It can be imagination or a skill that you may be taking for granted right now. You may not be the greatest writer, but you can be a great story teller. Publicity does not always have to be in written words. It is also the spoken word. That is why so many business owners immerse themselves into video marketing. Some people take awesome photos and start a photo blog to share with the world who they are and how they think.

For example, think about some traditional publicity methods, such as the Blog Talk Radio platform, local radio stations, TV show exposure, interviews, podcasts, video marketing and live web shows. It is all publicity!  Connect with people who can get you in the door and believe in yourself!

I learned that the best tool you can have in your arsenal is YOURSELF. Your thinking and your heart are your true weapons. They can defeat anyone. How? No one is like you…You may not know the latest and the greatest, but you are unique!

You have imagination. Tools are always available for use. Your faith in your story and your passion will do  more for you than fancy widgets that carry no emotions. Your passion will fuel the story because it comes from your heart. You are inspired to share… and usually when we inspired, we get the best results! When we are in the flow, we can really share our heart with others. In the book “Inspired Marketing” by Joe Vitale, he talks about inspired action and you. If you have not read this book, it would be fantastic read for you!

The lesson: You do not need tons of fancy tools to compete with others. You do not need to worry about others stealing your ideas. Do not put your focus on these things. Rather focus on what you have NOW, your mind, your talents and your passion! Go for it! Skills will be developed. Extra funds will show up to market your business when you use what YOU’VE GOT… now!

In my publicity world, I have what I call my THREE Musketeers who are always there for me: my blog, my video, and my press releases. They are free. They work. They share my story. What do you have today that makes you proud?… something that you can do RIGHT AWAY to share your ideas, your concepts? Take some time and think about it. You will come up with more things than you may think! No need for expensive VOODOO software, courses and events. Use what you have today and take YOU to a new level. You will then be able  to deal with other challenges much easier.

What you must have in your tool box:

1. WordTracker keyword research software

2. Pitch Engine to submit stories

3. A YouTube or Vimeo Channel

4. A simple Notepad when your laptop is not available

5. A Good pen or pencil to make notes

6. A cozy bookstore chair and magazines to research the latest news, trends and ideas

7. And of course, a Good cup of coffee or tea (who doesn’t love it?)

Let me just say this… I am not against widgets and tools. I use them every day, but my focus is on what I love to do because it makes me focused, excited and brings results! Then, my writing and my video publicity has meaning to me and others! Then and only then, will your story carry your heart with it!

Are you ready to reach for your slingshot and5 stones? You  have all you need. Go for it!

Have an awesome week!
Tatyana Gann

How my son saved my life, awakened my spirit and taught me the meaning of love…

The sun was shining bright. I watched the helicopters landing on the hospital rooftop while I was marching into the clinic for high risk patients. I was smiling inside, knowing that in less than an hour I would know the answer: boy or girl! Over 6 years ago, on April 20, 2005, my life was turned upside down. The doctor, after telling me I was going to have another boy, gently closed the door behind us and called for the nurse to come in. I was paying attention to all that he was doing. I felt an extreme pain in my heart, knowing something was not right. As usual, the doctor started out by asking how I was doing. My happy face was glowing… the “Pregnancy glow”.

Then, he said to me, “Unfortunately, we have bad news for you Mrs. Gann… and it is up to YOU to decide what you do with your baby.” My heart suddenly sank. I was confused, puzzled and asked what was going on. The doctor continued by telling me that my baby would be mentally retarded because of a rare case of spina bifida. Also, that my baby could have Down Syndrome. I remember feeling nauseated, smashed… devastated.I could not believe this was happening to me! But then, some power within me made me a mommy warrior. Suddenly, I had a simple answer… “NO”… No abortion! The voice in my head said, “God does not give you more than you can handle…” I remember it so clearly. Then, I said to my wonderful doctor, who was sitting in a brown leather chair, ” You know, I am not giving up. I will fight for my son’s life. He will give a me a reason to be a better mom. I will be the best mom for my boy. ”  Tears were rolling down my cheeks. I did not care that I had a makeup on and a cute little yellow sundress on with my 5 months pregnant, protruding belly. All I cared about was my son, the little angel that was given to me for a reason; to teach me a lesson of unconditional love, faith and hope.

I made a choice to give the gift of life to my son, without knowing the final outcome… knowing that the real outcome is a lesson of faith, hope and love. I had faith knowing that the fluid around his brain would go down… that his tiny body would grow and develop. I believed in prayers. That very moment when I said “NO!” to terminating my happy pregnancy and my wonderful glow, I had an inner glow- feeling… an amazing sense of peace. I felt DIVINE power within me, holding me together and wanting me to rely on HIM.

And I did…

I remember calling my British friend Maria and the first thing she said to me with her lovely british accent, “Tatyana, your baby is fine and he is going to be a genius and a happy boy!” Oh, how I wish I could have believed it 100%… I wanted to believe. I realized it was my duty to believe. It was an honor to have the ability to believe in the best outcome.  I had to lay my ego aside and stop asking God “Why me?”. I had to become strong for my son.

The hardest time in my life were those 4 months of waiting for the birth of my son since the day our doctor and other doctors after,  gave their prediction.  On July 19, 2005 my son was born and rushed into the ICU of  the Children’s hospital. I remember lying in my hospital bed awaiting, humming a song. I usually joked with the nurses around me and I was very hungry.  I had my mother with me holding my hand and smiling at me without saying a word.  Her beautiful presence made things so much more wonderful and peaceful. I am forever grateful!

After a series of several brain scans, the nurse brought my little baby boy back in to me. She smiled and said, “Girl, you’ve got a miracle baby here!!”   The doctor said there was no trace of fluid! My little baby boy was perfect. He was smiling at his mommy. I knew RIGHT then he was an angel from above with a mission to teach me and others lessons of life.  He taught me the most important one: faith and love right in that very hospital room.

The reason I am sharing with you a small chapter from my book  entitled “My Russian America” is because that so often we do not know how to trust, keep faith and learn how to love.

It was about trusting all the way to the end. Never giving up when we feel we cannot see the light or hear anything that resembles a solution. We often give up when things are unknowingly about to go in the right direction. Today, my little boy Daniel is my comedian and my supporter.  He loves to kiss me every morning and snuggle with me. His passion for life is felt through it all. His beautiful blue eyes are like deep ocean waves, always expressing love, joy and compassion.

Every time when I feel down, when things happen in my life , when business takes an unexpected turn, or when I feel I am losing faith, my little Daniel reaches out to me… and while sucking on his thumb,  he says the most beautiful words, “I love you Mommy… thank you for loving me.”

It was about NEVER giving up. He taught me how to remove doubts and replace them with love. He taught me how to laugh and to trust more.  He became the best teacher for me of unconditional love.  He is my little gentleman, which I adore and am grateful to God for giving me such guidance.

He became one of my biggest reasons to accepting the status of a “mompreneur”. He taught me how to face challenges with a noble attitude, to celebrate small victories together, to laugh when you feel like crying,  and to also laugh when I felt truly happy and how to be a child again. He has awakened my spirit, teaching me the true meaning of love. Loving myself, so I can be the best MOMMY for Daniel.

A Lesson we can all learn here: Never doubt yourself. Have faith when everything looks bleak. Fill your heart with gratitude.

Thank you Daniel for being my mentor…You are only 6 years old and your wisdom is beautiful!

Love & Hugs to you my little Daniel!

Your faithful student, personal chef (and sometimes drill officer),

Mommy

Japanese Garden, Tranquility and Your Creativity

“In Silence, We Find Answers…” – The Bible

I love to meditate. Do you love to meditate? Have you tried it yet? As a family, we love to come to a place where we feel tranquility and serenity. I love the Japanese garden in Cheekwood Botanical Garden, here in Nashville. Being there helps me to define my life purpose. It helps me to regroup… and start things in the right direction. Answers come from inside with ease. It is a great place to remove my writing blocks or even entrepreneurial challenges. As a publicist, a business owner, a mompreneur, I deal with it often and I accept it as a new learning experience to be better at what I do!

Yesterday, I spent a day with my family and my friend and life coach Krisna Flum. We were working on my new project called “Kangen Princess: Guiding You Back To Original YOU” (we will share more news very soon…shh it is a top secret)… Krisna even brought her little gals to this beautiful place! We practiced balance in life; being with our families while working on our project. And… it worked! We accomplished a lot while seeing our kids play and have fun! Nothing better than the smile of your little kids! We were creative because we had fun, plotting new ideas, manifesting our dreams!!!

(we are on a mission)

An interesting thing I read about Japanese gardens… people come to a Japanese garden to experience tranquility, so that their imagination and creativity will experience a boost! I remember reading in the Bible that Within Silence We Find Deep Answers.

It is all within…

…But, here is the thing we all struggle with: A balance of work and finding the time to relax.  So, I want to ask you…

Want to be more productive, but no clue where to go?  How do you define what it means to be productive? Do you feel you are spinning the wheels? Do you feel you are active in what you do, but never produce results? Are you striving  to be a perfectionist?

Just a few days ago, I was in my favorite bookstore and I grabbed a nice comfy chair.  I was also listening to water fall sounds and felt I was in my own little escape world from stress and life outside of the bookstore.  Personally for me, staying sane in a world filled with daily stress and constant new demands can be quite challenging and sometimes seemingly impossible.  70% of all medical problems are stress related and honestly there is no quick fix.  However, there are a few solutions or tips that can help anyone. They are very simple and so often overlooked.

Economic conditions are often false triggers

Especially due to the economic condition our country and the world is in  today, no wonder more and more people are depressed, overweight and develop chronic health conditions. Have we “created” a belief for ourselves about our current conditions due to the media and what we hear on weekly basis?

Did we allow what is happening in this country and even globally, to stop us from being productive?

I think it is an excuse for some to justify laziness. What should we do? We feel we are stuck in this mess and we often do not know whom to listen to and who can listen to us!

Control the stress. First and foremost we must put stress in its place like a misbehaving child who is out of control… and we must do the same with our stress. We must recognize we have a problem and determine what we must do about it. I learned to focus on the important matters in my life, despite the daily distractions. I call them “destructive distractions” since they carry destructive power. I learned to regroup and refocus on my priorities to ease anxiety and create a balanced life.  My best advice to you: find time for yourself!

Here are  10+ Steps to Feeling Alive and Productive

1. Deep Breathing.

Honestly, we sometimes get so rushed and pushed in so many different directions and being occupied with life that we tend to forget to slow down and smell the roses! We must slow down and take a few deep breaths.  It helps us to calm down, to gather our thoughts and start all over or move on.  I love to listen to the calming water fall sounds like I did in the bookstore and just relax by closing my eyes and connecting with nature sounds.

2.  Stay Positive

You may say, “Yeah, right Tatyana!” Positive people have better results and outcomes in any difficult situation. It does not mean that positive people do not have stress. They do. They just handle it differently. Their minds are programmed to expect positive results. Negative and positive cannot exist together, so we must choose one or the other.

When things went wrong in my life and my business, or something just did not work out the way I expected, I often felt like giving up or quitting… but, I made a choice of being positive, even though I was hurt or disappointed because I knew something better would come out of it.

3. Pamper yourself

When is the last time you took time to enjoy a relaxing candle lit bath, took a long walk, or listened to soothing music? You deserve to love your mind and body and create positive energy around yourself! I love to listen to meditation music.  A few minutes of listening to this type of music helps to release negative energy that can build up.  As they say, “If Momma is not happy, no one is happy!” And don’t forget, you can also indulge in a nice velvety piece of dark chocolate!

4. Don’t worry about the little things in life

If it is not a big deal, let it go. We often put too much attention to things that just do not matter. We make little things look like elephants and create a reality around it. Once you realize that certain little things do not serve any purpose and cannot be undone, you can move forward.

5. Learn to forgive

Forgive others and forgive yourself. Believe in forgiveness and forget it.  Forgetting is a part of forgiveness.  Forgiving yourself for mistakes will free you to do what you need to do and prevent you from sitting in the mud pile of sorrow, pain and misery.  Forgiving yourself for what you have not done or done poorly will allow you to move forward.

6. De-Clutter Your life

De-cluttering your life means less stress. Do not feel that you have to be a supermom or a super-dad and try to do too many things at once!  Multitasking can clutter your life and create chaos.  Determine what needs to be done first and stick to your plan. Write a list of things that are IMPORTANT. Usually the most important things will always tend to be on the top of the list.  As they say, “the creme always rises to the top”. You will always know what is important to you.

7. Use the word “NO”

It is a quite negative word, however it could also be your best friend.  There are times we must learn to say “NO” to the requests and demands of others and sometimes isolate ourselves from the rushed world. I love making casseroles, stews and bake desserts for friends who are sick, or for someone who has just had a baby and needs assistance… or even just watching someone’s else child though I have my own jungle at home with my two boys! Often, we are afraid to say “NO” because we wonder what people would think of us or if perhaps they might think less of us.  NO is a powerful word, so learn to use it wisely!

8. Find positive people

Surround yourself with positive people who understand and support your life, your vision and believe in you! They can enrich your life in many ways. The most positive people in my life are my kids! They are the ones who got me interested in meditation and learning how to relax..I heard my son Timothy saying “Mommy, lets meditate and relax”.  I never told him about meditation and he is the one who welcomed it in his life.

9. Be Grateful

Count your blessings, one by one. Consider all your challenges as blessings because there is beauty in challenges. Be grateful for happy and joyous moments in life.  Be grateful for the little things that bring a smile to you.  As they say, be thankful and pray when it rains and pray when the sun shines. It is all GOOD!

” To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven” -Johannes Gaertner

10. Take care of your body

Make sure to sleep at least 8 hours.  An adult in America sleeps on average 5 hours a night. No wonder people are stressed and tired. Sleep deprivation is right at the top along with bad eating habits, causing  countless health problems.  Create an exercise program and do it every day. Make it a habit.  I made a choice of eating healthy and a daily walking program… plus, drinking high ph water called kangen water.  Our well-being is a mirror of who we are.

11. Control what you do with your thoughts.

It does not matter if you have negative thoughts or positive things. It is about what you do with them. Do you like them, nurture them?  Your thoughts are like ice cream flavors. However, you only have one choice, one flavor at a time. Remember only you are in control of your life and well being.  Take baby steps and practice simple things that can ease your anxiety and create more harmony and balance. Have you ever been ina  situation where you wanted to make a huge leap into the future only to realize that you failed? The reason for that is that your mindset is not aligned yet with the quantum leap you wanted to make. Your views on life and how everything works have not changed.   Life is not always a bed of roses and learning how to improve your life takes time and wisdom.

12.  Be Creative

Creativity is the force behind productivity. Once you become creative and the ideas are flowing, you can then laser focus, providing you an opportunity to come  up with solutions that you never thought possible. Once you are creative and love what you do, it accelerates your productivity. I remember myself being involved in projects I loved and I felt very creative about… I could accomplish any task! In order to be creative we must relax, be tranquil and be at peace with who we are!

I want to end with a beautiful and simple quote, “Things do not change, we change”… Do not be afraid to make little changes in your life, because it is all for your good!

Have a great week!

Entrepreneurs challenges: How to overcome an emotional meltdown

My dear entrepreneur!

This story is for you…

Over the past two years, my life had many ups and downs. To be honest, I had a lot of challenges and self discoveries that brought heartaches, but also made me very strong. I learned one thing through it all and that was to be TOUGH!!! I’m sharing something I hope will give YOU more strength…My life as a PR coach, a mom, and a business woman has changed.

Recently, on my Facebook  wall, I posted a discussion about storms of life.  We all talked about hitting rock bottom…but you know what?… it is all good!!! I’m sure you are saying, “WHAT?!?… WOW!… HOW!?”

People asked me,  “Really, you made it?” …my reply? I never intended NOT to MAKE IT!!!

One thing I learned, just in the past few weeks, when I was VERY stressed and began experiencing an emotional melt down, not wanting to move or get out of my bed… I did not even want to talk to anyone, even my best friends!!!  I allowed myself these days. I DID NOT deny the pain. I embraced it! And you know what?… I got through it and learned that I WAS strong and my strength was growing. I see crystal clear now – when we are WEAK we ARE strong! I am sharing it with you as a way to inspire you because so many people are afraid of negative emotions. They need to come out. Then, like a sea after a storm, you obtain an inner peace!!!

How did I achieve that?

Every day I prayed for guidance, courage and wisdom. I relied on GOD and his power to give me a lift through people in my life that matter to me and for those whom I hope I matter too (at least I felt this way and saw it through actions)! Every day my meditation was on understanding, feeling and embracing love for myself. I knew what I do and go through is to learn to love me more again like it was before but now even stronger!

Am I vulnerable in sharing it? Heck Yes! But, I know pain can also be the most rewarding experience. Challenges do not hurt us. They motivate us. I cannot say I regret the way things worked out in my life… not as I wished them to be, but…

…I know it is EVEN better NOW than I ever thought. I have gained courage and wisdom. I have new doors opened to me. I am grateful to people who see my talents and skills. I opened something we often close- our hearts!!!

A Lesson you can learn here:

YOU are very powerful. Unstoppable. When you hit rock bottom, you become exhausted…You feel drained…your heart is empty…but, strength is picking up! That empty cup is becoming filled with love, wisdom and power.
From here, you only go up… only FORWARD! Only then will you feel like an eagle ready to fly! You feel powerful because of the LOVE that you FINALLY have… for yourself!

But how you do define love for yourself when you know things in your life were not the best?!?

Loving yourself does not mean always closing your eyes and not seeing your flaws. It is loving yourself enough to recognize them and work on them.

Do that from a place of love and honor for yourself!
