How to Become A Star With SEO Press Releases and Social Media Releases

I was on the phone with my  PR client last week and we were discussing customized marketing solutions and one of them were social media news releases, traditional press release and news wire distribution.

I still get questions about social media releases and SEO releases. How can they help a business owner to grow their business? I truly believe in utilizing all of them…We cannot truly say which one is best for you! It all depends on your story purpose!

What is a TRUE difference?

The difference:

1. SEO releases serve a different purpose.

  • They are designed to get more traffic, reach bigger audience and get people to buy your product or at least get your free trial service, product sample.
  • You must focus on sharing news/announcements and breakthrough in your company.  Achievements in your life and business are very important to share with  your audience
  • Your goal is to focus on writing about: you as an expert/business owner, your product and your business events you attend and host
  • Business owners write them to generate leads, increase sales, build credibility, establish a solid brand.
  • They are sometimes offered by FREE press release services companies but I do not recommend them. I do not recommend free press release services companies. Because you can get traffic but often low quality.
  • SEO releases are great for link building and easy to share online
  • Best SEO releases sites: PRWeb.com, PRLog.com
  • Find the ones with lowest alexa rank and high page rank scored 6 and above

2. Social Media Releases

  • Building Brand
  • Establishing a brand
  • Building brand awareness
  • Traffic yes if combined with proper SEO
  • Pitchengine is my favorite PR Platform  to use to create and host social media releases
  • Connecting with other brands
  • Syndicated via blogging community and social networks
  • Does not have to be very official as a traditional press release
  • Embed videos, images, more related links, more quotes
  • Highlights about your customers:  tell THEIR stories to build your brand!

Press releases writing is ART and you must learn how to be creative and share stories in less than 600 words. My recommendation is to hire a consultant or a coach to teach you how to get it done the right way and plan your entire 90 day online PR campaign. Combining with other marketing and PR methods you can create real online success. It is not a quick fix that can bring results overnight but it can happen. It happened with many of our clients.

SEO Press releases are loved by media too. Write as if you want to get attention from the best media guru. Do not hype though but find what their audience loves to read. Match to their interest and you will get more attention and people will share it.. More traffic. Bigger list. More sales.

Questions which a PR coach should ask you…

When it comes to effective publicity, business owners immediately feel stuck! They become afraid of the media and what they need and want from your story. Last week I was at the MTV Movie Awards style lounge, a gifting lounge for celebrities and media, and every reporter, journalist, and editor I spoke with wanted a story. They want to know how YOUR product benefits their readers!

They want to know your persona! We represented Sisel International and the theme was “The 1950s Candy Shop”  with the product being SlenderPOPs, a weight loss candy! Many stylists, celebrities, and media professionals complimented us on a great theme and on having chosen the right colors for marketing.
