What Online Marketers and PR Professionals Can Gain From Successful Dating Principles.

When it comes to the common mistakes that people make on Twitter and Facebook they are all based on the lack of communication knowledge.  Social media is about natural and genuine conversation between people where they share their thoughts and experiences. We must learn how to communicate by listening and contributing VALUE. Social media success happens when you know how to influence people and help them make an informed decision naturally. Failing to communicate and participate in social media stops your advancement of trust of your audience. It will likely cause mistrust. You must build your online reputation using instructional content, contests and responses from your audience.

How I overcame personal fears. True story about my Russian accent.

I want to share with you a personal story that I am inspired to share with you after reading one of Katie Freiling stories about her fears and how she overcame them. Actually opposite to Katie, I did not have my fears growing up except fear of big dogs and swimming. Well later on in life, I learned to swim later in life and developed love for big dogs.

I grew up as the only child in the family. My parents were very protective of me, and I think they had more fears that I was too bold to do what I wanted. I used to be a tomb boy climbing fences with boys and play fighting. I was not afraid of big crowds.. When I was 7 years old my mother told me it would be good for me to act like a girl and suggested to take ballet classes. My biggest fear was the fact that I was not that flexible as all the ballerinas you see on the stage. I learned the hard way – working 2-3 hours every other day and transforming my body from being just a little girl to a professional dancer. I faced an inner barrier and it was a big challenge. I overcame it. I looked straight in the eyes of my fear and moved on.

I never was afraid of trying new things.. I learned to cook and bake at the early age and even burned few cakes. I took ice skating classes since I was 4 years old and competed in running maraphones up to the age of 19. I would say I tried everything. Many things in life..

When I came to America in 1994 I had the biggest fear… It was simply my accent. I was afraid to speak. You know I was a well trained puppy. I could not speak but I could understand. I was literally afraid to open my mouth. I had an enourmous fear of not being understood and laughed at. Of course, it was all inside. For the first couple months I struggled with it until one day I was invited to the President Office to share my experiences as a russian exchange student and I could not speak.. I was sweating and feeling very dizzy. I was thankful to my friends who were with me and they took over the conversation while I was fully embarrased. That day I made a decision and commitment to put aside the fear. I accepted a new theory. My theory was this: I knew English, I could write, I could speak in a foreign language, and I knew that my american friends could not speak Russian if they wanted to do it fast. I saw it as my big advantage to share with people my passion for foreign languages so I took another language to learn and it was French.

Day after day I was feeling less scared. I made commitment to go out and speak. I took classes that required me to speak and be in front of people for whom English was native but for me it was really foreign. I did not care that my accent could be too tough to listen and that I would butcher English. It was me inside overcoming my fear.. I realized later that fear I had about my accent was nothing comparing to other fears …

Later on in life I looked at my accent at something unique… It became something that only belonged to me. My accent was my gem that made me stand out in the crowd in a good way and make people listen to me. That fear turned into blessing.. Today I can speak in the front of crowds, get on the webinar or teleclass and teach to hundreds of people. When I pick up a phone to call a prospect or a client, I smile. I learned to accept my accent and master my English. It took me 20 years to master my English and took me less than a year to over my fear.

I hope my story has inspired you! I do want to encourage you to find your fears and discover the good side of it and see how you turn your fears into something positive that you never expected to.

How to Write A Press Release In 11 Easy Steps

Discover how you can write a press release for your home business, your brand info product, an your brand new published book in few steps and become “The TOP GUN” in your niche!



While back ago I did a marketing training  on how to write a press release for a home business and I wanted to discuss with you the importance of internet press release in your personal branding and as one of the best lead generation methods.

I shared my story of generating 4.3 million hits to my press release in 8 months. Of course not every press release I wrote got so many hits but press releases are still my favorite method. I have used press releases to promote my previous business.

Press Releases is considered one of the most forgotten marketing methods by small business owners but considered to be the most proven marketing and lead generation method. The online marketers are looking for more sophisticated methods (ppc, seo methods) or trendy marketing such as youtube, twitter and facebook. It is all good but not enough in my opinion. Press releases can be a good addition to what an online marketer does on a daily basis. You can truly write a press release for your home business in less than hour and see results in the next few hours. Pretty Powerful!

The excuse I hear so often, “Tatyana, I do not know how to write press release”. Well, it is a pretty lame excuse. Everyone can write. WHY? Because every day we share news, announcements or even gossips with our friends, family, church members and our business collegues. We forget how natural it is for us to share the news or events that occured in the past few days or months. Google loves rich content that is natural and has good flow and it will crawl its content with its powerful spiders.

How can we write press release that are not only good content rich editorials but also bring quality traffic and buyers for our product or a business?

First of all, you need to understand how to write a press release using 5 Ws Principles: Where, Why, Who, When and What. Once you grasp the idea that press release is not about selling but it is more of announcement of events, products and people stories,  you will be able to do it with ease as if you are telling or reading a story to your child. Press release is about presenting solutions to a reader and be enough compelling for them to contact you right away! Be a story teller and you will be more trusted!


Here is how you can write press release in 11 steps:

1. Determine what you are going to write about. It could be event with your company, your personal achievements, announcement of the partnership with a particular company and etc. Tell a story that is compelling!

2. Research keywords you want to target. Make sure they are buying keywords not some generic keywords. You want to use keywords that a customer or a business seeker would be looking for on google or other search engine. I recommend to use services such Web CEO, Marketing Samurai or WordTracker. I think they are great tools to use

3. Make sure your press release is about 5-6 paragraphs with 4-5 sentences each to make it easier for you than counting words. Keep close to 500 words!

4. Use important two keywords in the title or headline then summary of your press release. Repeat headline sentence in the summary then in the first paragraph.

5. Put the main keywords you plan to use to the left of each paragraph and if you have an option to hyperlink that keyword to your personal site or a blog then do it. That will help with optimization. Do not overuse your keywords. Create natural flow of keywords without too much repetition and relevant to what you say. Use ONLY 2 primary keywords per each press release.

6. Include your link to your website with a compelling offer to get your FREE report, free ebook, free consulting session and also include the information with your website for media contacts. Do not forget these two important sections in the press release, which I call “Magic Calls To Action”

7. After you write your press release, you need to review it and submit your press release to online press release distribution sites. Some sites are free press release distribution sites and some will be offer paid options.

8. Another important step- submit to social bookmarking sites such as digg, technorati, stumbleupon and more. I recommend to use services called “Social Marker”

9. Share with your friends, business collegues via Twitter, Facebook or forums. Ask them to share them with their friends and ask to leave comments after reading the press release. Remember comments are very important for search engines to crawl your press release and get more exposure! The press release that got a lot of traffic had many comments that turned into heated debates and it was actually fun because it allowed me to post my answers and create more curiousity among my viewers. I was receiving calls about my business every day just from my press releases that they saw online.

10. Write a press release at least once a week and if your time allows you write more. Just imagine you will collect over 50 press releases in one year just with one press release. Talk about incredible online presence!

11. Make sure share press release on Twitter and Facebook. Twitter loves news.. This is YOUR news.. Make sure share it. Plus it gives great traffic to your press release for FREE… Ask people to re-tweet and share with others…syndication is very important.. I personally recommend Katie Freiling’s The Unified Tribe social media platform to syndicate my content

The last tip: Take your press release and distribute offline. Find local companies that can include your editorials in their local news papers or magazines. You can even find good national publications that will accept your articles as contribution to their community. Do your own research and discover targeted publications. If you write about real estate crisis, find popular real estate publications. If you want to promote your business, find magazines like “Who is Who In Nashville” as good example and it will give an option to submit article about you and what you do.

What can Twitter Peeps learn from dating principles?

I recently posted note on Facebook about this subject and it got a lot of attention and I wanted write a blog post and share with you. I hope you can read and understand the meaning of it and apply to your business and improve your social media presence.  If you have Twitter and Facebook account,  what do you think what Twitter peep  learn from a dating principles.

How to get people to pay attention to you in Social Media and say WOW… even if…you are simply green, brand new and no knowledge and you may have not even uploaded a photo…Just a blank screen… sounds like something you have done before? Well there is a way out and it can actually be fun and simple and you do not need to pay “gurus” thousands of dollars to learn “their” secrets.. The secret is UNDERSTAND WHO YOU ARE and ADORE YOU…Then the right people will flock to you because of YOU and YOUR VALUE to the community..

Hey all I thought to do something fun.. Have you thought about the first date you ever had? Well. I remember the first date and first impression I wanted to make.. I remember how my future husband approached me.. He actually was too shy and invited me on the double date. If you ever had a double date it felt weird. I did not know what to say and what other person thinks of me..The same happens in social media.. We get intimidated by what others think of us.

If you are brand new on Twitter here are first steps you must take:

1. Find someone you really like and respect
Start with people you know in your business, your friends, and your colleagues from your job or any other business organization. If you do not know many people find people you believe you are going to really like and not just consider somewhat cool. There is a difference between being cool and really liking and respecting that individual

2. Take time to get to know them
Make sure to get to know them and see what they like before you ask them questions or for your small favors such as retweeting your posts, leaving comments on your blogs or videos

3. Pop question.
No, we are not talking about getting married right away.. Do you remember when you asked your girlfriend for a date and you so casually popped the question asking to go for a coffee or a movie or invited her to the concert or meet other people. Well same applies here. Do not be afraid to invite your new friends to facebook group, special event or even live event where you can meet face to face and get to know each other more.

4. Take it to the next level
After your first meeting or conversation take it to the next level and try to find more about person by asking more questions and learning more about them and let them ask you questions to get to know you. Remember in dating everyone is like “a marketing package” One thing we must remember is to stay authentic that way that “package” is going to have a true content and not just look good on the outside. It will help to establish a deeper connection.

5. Know your standards
The person will think of you as more attractive if they see that you have standards in your life and your career.  Set your values!

6. Give space to your friends
We all love to have space in our life.. When you ask too many questions or want to be included.
in their circle and you try too hard they can consider you as a stalker.. It is not what you want in your relationships with your potential customers, partners and even just friends.

7. Don’t try to be impressive
You do not have to impress people with all your knowledge. Just you should have the right energy and enthusiasm and be courteous as well. Just from my personal experience sometimes certain things I mentioned or brought to discussion on Twitter or facebook that I did not expect to get attention to actually brought more buzz and more discussion and even hot debates. It was awesome. It was real, authentic and beautiful and a great surprise!

8. Watch your tongue and behavior.
As you know tongue can be constructive or destructive. What you say leaves footprints and people may not say things to your first and tolerate your inappropriate behavior but they will never appreciate it. Best to be polite and respectful.

9. Be Nice and kind!
People notice the kind and nice people. Smile even you engage into conversations. You may think they do not see your smile but they feel it. I even made video about the power of smile in social media and it brings great points about we can use our smile and energy to connect with people.

10. Maintain Relationship.
Don’t just leave that person hanging and hoping you will come back and talk more. Keep relationship with people and stay in touch.. Make sure you compliment them, reassure them that you care about them and express interest in what they do and find new things about them you like most and discuss it with them. It will bring more topics for discussions..
