7 Ways to Forgive Yourself and Others…. And Find True LOVE!

Self-forgiveness and self-love. Two topics. Two beginnings. Two outcomes.  Where do we start? Do we start forgiving ourselves because we love…or do we love because we forgive? That is the question we ask ourselves as we embrace the journey of self-love and self-forgiveness and forgiveness in general.

In the past two years as I coached clients, the topic of forgiveness has been the most important topic my clients wanted to discuss and to work through the issues that affected their forgiveness of others or themselves.

It was a tough area that I personally dealt with as I was going through a challenging divorce.  Today it would have been my wedding anniversary, 21 years, and I am okay sharing it because we are human and life happens. Did I feel sadness? Yes. Did I feel gratitude? YES?

I hope you can benefit from learning mindset tactics that can help you feel LIGHT and HAPPY again because that is what forgiveness does.

  • It gives you peace of mind, fills your heart with hopes, joy and inspiration.
  • It is no longer a heavy feeling in your heart.
  • It is a feeling of love, compassion, kindness and peace.

How do we forgive ourselves? Let me show you how you can adjust your thought patterns and simple things you can do to start forgiving yourself for mistakes, flaws and your life regrets.

Okay. Let’s go!

1. Write down everything that burdens you.

Everything…YES EVERYTHING.  You need to be honest with yourself and be raw. You must bring everything to the surface so you can face it.  That is where your healing starts.. It is a place of personal awareness.

2. Write down how you want to feel as a result of self-forgiveness.

It is a vision you have for your life. It is an outcome you see in your mind. How does it feel to feel self-forgiveness? What will it do for your life? How would you feel to forgive another human being? Will you feel compassion, more love, understanding?

Do you have any fears associated with forgiveness? Often we are afraid to forgive because we think we will be considered weak if we show compassion and kindness. Actually it is your strength. It takes a strong person to forgive. It takes a strong person to drop ego and forgive. What matters is your decision to forgive and being able to forgive.

It does take time to forgive. Forgiveness of others and ourselves is an experience. It is a journey of knowing yourself, your values, your standards and overcoming fears of future. It is about rebuilding yourself and becoming a better version of yourself.

3. Think of new choices you must make in order to make your life better.

New choices will help you see your past mistakes and understand that at that moment you did not understand certain life principles and you did your best or what you perceived as the best option. As you start establishing your new patterns you will see yourself in a new light. You will rebuild your confidence because self-forgiveness helps you see yourself less broken and more hopeful.

4. Write down your values. When you know your values stick to them. It will help you establish new boundaries and honor who you are and what you stand for.

5. Know your mentors.

Be careful what kind of teachers and mentors you surround yourself with. Not everyone will give you best advice. Everyone has their agenda and their life experiences. Trust your gut and consult with the ones who have similar values. That is why it is so important to establish your core values. write them down. Ask yourself if your teachers fit the mold of your new values.

6. Know your friends.

We live in the world of social media where everyone is a friend. Be picky about your inner circle. Your friends will influence you. What influence do you want to have in your life?

In the end I want to share the biggest a-ha moment: As you fill your heart with MORE love for yourself, it will be easy to forgive others and yourself.  Self-love means removing the layer of perception others create for you and accepting yourself as you are this very moment. From that point you can only choose what is best for you and you make the best decisions to improve your life, your lifestyle, your business, your wellness plan, your spiritual and personal growth. You make an effort to discover the best qualities in you and nurture them. As you grow, your will see your previous choices from the place of compassion and start appreciating yourself even more. Then you can forgive yourself with ease.

7. Start enjoying your life.

Start doing this your love. Write a list of new things you want to try.  Get yourself in a happy state of mind. You might discover new things about yourself you did not know you could do and you can make new friends.

Every hour of your life …you either exist or you love! As you find forgiveness in your heart, you will find TRUE LOVE as you look in the mirror! Yes,TRUE LOVE is YOU!

Five Things You Can Give Up To Regain Happiness

166642_10150375089860463_5588847_nHi there.

It is Friday...As I woke up this morning and took my kids to school and wished them a happy day at school I thought about the meaning of happiness.

Is there anything in life that can cloud our happiness or even block it? What are we willing to give up to regain happiness and peace of mind? Let’s dive into the meaning of the word “HAPPINESS” According to the Webster dictionary the word happiness means three things:

1. Fortune and Prosperity

2. State of Being Content

3. Satisfying Experience

Never thought one of the meanings would be good fortune and prosperity. We have only believed that happiness would be a state of being content and satisfying pleasurable experience. What choices do we have to make to be happy and what does happiness mean to you?  Unfortunately we go through motions as adults and find ourselves lost, hopeless and even depressed.

Do you remember when you were a kid and played with friends and nothing mattered to you, but fun and play? You felt joy, freedom and you were accepted as you were.  As we get older , we lose a sense of play and what matters to us. We become professional collectors of STUFF and STUFF defines  our happiness. We live in the boxes and work in the very small cubicles and define our happiness by the size of our office, the size of our house and car brands we drive. Outside success becomes our temporary happiness.

What if it is taken away? Then what? Can we still be happy? I believe it all comes to conditioning our mindset and making it strong to withstand the storms of life that can take our happiness a way for a moment. It happened to me.

As I faced many obstacles and struggled through my divorce, I was loosing a sense of happiness and thought that when things get settled I would be happy then. But they never did as I expected.

Over time I realized that happiness was a choice, and it was an ongoing learning process. It is a choice of letting go of what pollutes your state of mind and blocks you from having the satisfying life experiences. Happiness is allowing the world see your gifts and talents and using them to make a difference.

But…we are afraid to shine our true talents and gifts because  we were told we should be focusing on something solid and practical and get serious about our life. We are reminded we must be practical and take care of our life. I totally understand. We must take care our today’s needs and obligations, but our future depends on what we choose today.

What we choose today will show up in our life a year or 5 years from now.  I hope you choose happiness and being a person who is radiating joy, passion and confidence. I hope you will take actions that will allow happiness in your life. I hope you will do things that give you a feeling of ultimate joy and satisfaction.

When it comes to regaining happiness we all face our fears. Quite often, it is a fear of accepting ourselves as we are and living life according to somebody’s else standards and beliefs about ourselves that contradict the core of who we in reality.  Growing up in Russia my definition of happiness was my family gathering for a brunch on Sunday morning and my grandma house was my place of happiness where vanilla aroma and fresh baked bread reminded me I was loved and cared of.  We lived in one bedroom apartment with my parents and yet my parents allowed me experience life: from teaching me skating and skiing and putting me through years of ballroom dancing.  We cared for our neighbours and invited them for dinners and coffee on Friday night or even on a casual Monday evening. We took time to bring happiness in our life.

But we live in the world where we are afraid to invite a neighbour for a cup of coffee because we are just too busy working in collect STUFF that eventually will ruin and we will throw it away.

We are simply afraid to be ourselves. We see others being happy and we get jealous of their happiness instead of finding our own. We complain about our life. We surround ourselves with people that do not reflect who we are inside but who we try to be. We create an artificial environment because we are not living our truth…

Good news! We can really change it.

There are FIVE things we have to give up in order to give space to positive energy and feel happy again.

1. Complaining.

Think about all the times you have complained. What if you could find gratitude? My good friend and my mentor Katerina once said,  “It is destroying your life from inside. It destroys everything you have built and tried to do.

I agree. Gratitude is the antidote to our complaining. But if we can open our minds and see the reality of what it does to our life and we replace with deep authentic gratitude.

2. Unhealthy relationships and negative environment.

Do you feel blah after meeting such people and feel drained emotionally and even physically? Have you been in a toxic relationship with your loved one or even a friend? What did you do? Did you stay? Did you communicate openly that the other person need to make a new choice in their life if they want to keep a relationship strong and healthy?

3. Lack of passion

We focus so much on doing WORK and doing things to make ourselves happy but what if we find our passions instead. Passion means passing energy…PASSION ( PASS IONS). Knowing your passion will keep your happy. It will push you forward during life transitions.

4. Criticism

We are often too tough on ourselves. We keep digging and seeking our flaws. Every day when you find something wrong with you, you develop a pattern of seeing yourself as a failure, a looser and much more. It is time to change it. I do recommend affirmations as you look into the mirror. What is your favorite affirmation? How do you want people to view you? Write it down. That is your new affirmation.

5. Staying Busy- Not Productive

We get involved into too many things: from sports activities with kids, planning events and parties and trying to fit into other people schedules.  We also spend a lot of time on social media without learning something or sharing value. It is okay to do something fun but if it is not productive it will take your energy away.

Are you afraid to slow down and just do nothing for 1 hour a day? What would you do to relax and recharge? Then do it. Your body and your mind will be happy!

Write down your priorities for the next week and stick to them. Eliminate extra events from your schedule. Give yourself a break and recharge. Ask yourself “Is it good for me?

I hope it helps. I hope every morning you do somethings that makes you excited about life and brings happiness into every little moment of life!

From the desk of Tatyana Gann

Nashville TN

I want to congratulate on your brand new company. It is a great start.  I know you have put a lot of hours, product development, web design and your marketing plans. You are NOW ready to spread the word about your company. But…You still are not quite sure where and how to start your public relations campaign. You have many ideas and do not know which ones to do first especially as a brand new startup.

Sad news some startups still expect that somebody will tell about them.

NOPE. It does not happen this way.

You can ask me now, “Tatyana, what does it take to get best media coverage for startups? ” My answer is you must do everything in your power to get heard, be seen and talked about. You must be the center of attention and your goal is to be in the spotlight from Day 1 of your online presence. It is your reputation we are talking about here. I will be sharing you the tips today that I give to my clients during my strategy sessions and it is up to you if you apply them right way or not. PR success is in your hands.  I do not chase my clients trying to explain them why they need PR.  They know it is their “online insurance”. It is what will give me leverage and more media coverage in the long term. They know it is not an overnight deal. I lead with a quote “Rome was not built in one day”.  Then do not think PR will make you famous in one day either!

Honest enough? Well good. I am a drill officer, a PR doctor, your coach whatever you can call me, but I will be upfront and honest with you because I am frustrated to see people suffer from the lack of PR  knowledge . They spend thousands of dollars on ads that bring them squat publicity. They sell, pitch without a personal story. Nothing. Amateur ways are gone my friends. Time to stand out and be professional in everything you do.

That is why I put together a list of proven public relations strategies for any start up company

1.  First write 3 press releases.

a. about your product- how your product can help your customers achieve their goals. Bring solutions to your  ideal readers.

b. about you as the expert- share your business  lessons and what you can do to help your clients with youAr new company

c. events such as FREE training, free event to spread the news

2. Submit press releases

Easiest ways to share them on PRWEB.com, PRlog.org, PR.com, PRleap.com

Paid version of press release submission will give you more media coverage of course and better for SEO.

3.  Focus on media inquiries

Contributing writers, journalists are seeking the content.  Sign up with HARO. They will send you inquiry about the topics they are writing and if your product story is a match then win win for all!

4. Build relationships with established companies leaders

Form solid business partnerships because it is very important. They will give you access to their press coverage. I am sure you  have business connections that can take your business to a new level. I recommend to sit down with your publicist and create a PR plan how to make it work. Show your partners how it will benefit their clients.  Once you do that successfully you can have media coverage. It takes time but it is worthy!  Show them your intentions to establish long term presence and that you are here to build profitable relationships.

5. Be personal with your media contacts

Get on a phone. Call them. Build relationships in social media. attend local events. I often attend Chamber of commerce lunches, networking mixers. It is fun and I get to know local media and other entrepreneurs. Plus it feels good to get  out and meet like minded people.  Hint. Let them talk and say what they want from you..

6.  Charity events

Be a part of charity events. Participate in fundraisers, benefit dinners and show your support in the community. Talk about it in your social media circles. I have attended many events to support local and even international organizations. Often you might find if any celebrities are involved and what they plan to do. It is all about paying it forward! PS. then you can write a short story and send to your local media outlets.

7.  Speak. Speak.

Becoming a speaker is a journey but you can participate in workshops. Check Thumbtack.com they will send you quotes for speaking gigs.

Always keep in mind one thing- you are here to help your customers achieve their goals! Share your failures, share your life lessons and what you did to start your company.  Sharing is caring.

8. Local communities.

It is a great way to see what publications are writing about. I recommend to check your local communities sites

Find them on Instagram and Twitter. I love Instagram because I can send them a personal message.

How to move on after a breakup and find an ecstatic joy in life

In the movie The Silver Linings Playbook the character says , “I don’t want to stay in the bad place, where no one believes in silver linings or love or happy endings.” He lost everything. He was lost. But somewhere inside he knew there was a hope for LOVE.

Breakups are like that…They break us apart.  They take love away. We do not want to stay in the bad place. We believe in the silver lining and things do work out.

And actually, they do work out.

Breakups tore us apart, so we can see the light. Breakups are not designed to destroy us and lead us into the darkness. They are made for our personal growth if we get our lesson.

After a divorce or a bad breakup, it is so easy to find yourself being miserable and living in the place filled with pity. We can comfort ourselves with wine, food and chocolate. But instead, we can discover new life energy within ourselves that was hiding ready to emerge.

First…We can be grateful
Be grateful? Really? Are you kidding me?
You tell me I should be grateful for the breakup’s pain? YES
You tell me I should be grateful for the wasted time? YES.
You tell me I should be grateful for arguments we have had? YES.
Gratitude is the most powerful force to get you out of the funky mood. It is not cheesy. It works every time!

Practice it for the next 21 days. Begin your gratitude change if you want to find love again. Because if you stay in the toxic memories, you will not be the most attractive person to be around. It will affect everything you do including your career and relationships with friends. Only you can change it.

Secondly, remember there are no losses. We let go of one person not to replace him or her with somebody else. We let go of our loved ones so we can find love for ourselves. Only then, we can allow space to love someone new. It may not be the same type of love you have felt but it is a new love and a new experience.
One of my favorite personal development authors Florence Shinn said, “There is no loss in Divine Mind, therefore, I cannot lose anything that is rightfully mine. “
Every person we meet is our teacher. They reveal what we can work on. They reveal what we can change so our next relationship can be more authentic, genuine and more compassionate.
The truth breakups happen because of our big EGO.

The good news you can move on with an attitude of gratitude and say (silently) to the one who broke your heart, “THANK YOU for loving me when I was imperfect and thank you for leaving me to be more loved!”
Try and see how you feel. Do you feel a shift after saying THANK YOU to the one who is no longer with you?

This week please try to do something fun and yes it can be in the middle of the week. Watch a comedy, hike, listen to fun happy music. Then from the place of joy think about your new life chapter.

If you need help, schedule a free session today!

How to stop being jealous and start moving towards our dreams

Hi there

As I was scrolling through my morning emails, I noticed an interesting subject that I would love to discuss further: How to Turn Jealousy Into Motivation To Achieve Goals.
As a life coach, I have witnessed many women being jealous of their successful peers. They become miserable, angry and ridicule every successful woman they meet.

I often ask myself, “Why do women do that? What does it for them?
My answer is low self-worth and giving up on the dreams but that it is another separate discussion.

I strongly believe that anyone can turn jealousy into the motivation, re-spark their passion and get moving towards their dreams.
A wise woman can turn jealousy into the motivation, experience breakthroughs, and achieve new goals.
I believe that our belief system is responsible how we feel.
It is our deep beliefs system that blocks our goal achievement. It is our ego.

1. We are afraid to fail.
2. We are not worthy
3. I am brand new who would want me

This belief system can make us jealous and prevent from taking actions. Our ego does not want us see our true potential and be our best. It feeds on comparing ourselves to others, judging, being angry and ungrateful.

In my short article, I will describe how you can change it around in three short steps. They are not spiritual practices. They are simply your actions.
1. Look at where you are in life.

If you are a beginner at what you do, there is no point to be jealous of more successful women. Instead, reach out to them and build relationships with them, be of service and provide your fresh perspectives. Be grateful you have women you can look up to.
2. No success

If you are not successful yet or struggling with your business make sure you learn what they do. Watch them and make notes how they do it. Learning new skills is a humbling experience. It is about accepting the fact your need to grow and become the best version of yourself. Jealousy of their expertise is not too bad in my opinion. It can push you forward and get you unstuck. It will push you to take actions you never did.

3. Set your goals.

In goal setting, it is important to know what kind of goals want you to achieve so you avoid comparison and start being proactive in achieving your goals. You have to start by asking yourself a few goal questions that can be broken down into Goal questions, Reality questions, Option questions and Will questions.

What is short term goal?
What is the long term goal?
What do you need to deliver to your customers?
What does success look to you?

REALITY QUESTIONS to ask yourself the reality of your situation, skills, time issues, process and how you have come so far.
What is going on in your life now?
How busy are you?
What is working and what is not working?
Do you have extra time?
Do you need new skills to achieve this goal and what can you use now to get it done?

OPTION QUESTIONS– Remember you have options and plan B strategy to achieve the same goal.
What are the benefits and negatives of each goal?
What else can you do?
What would it take to achieve it?
What is good about this option?

WILL QUESTIONS– Once you understand your goals and believe in them you can start moving forward
When will I start?
What will I do first?
How likely will I succeed?

By answering these questions, you will focus on taking actions and be real with yourself rather than being stuck and jealous.

Top 5 Secrets Women Must Know To Get The Power Back.

I am ready to claim my power! “

How often do you hear this statement?  Personal development experts believe anyone can claim their power just by speaking it. Interesting enough, not everyone understands the responsibilities that come with that power.

Over the weekend, my friend Irina invited me to spend Sunday afternoon on the lake, sailing with her friends. I immediately said “yes” without having a single clue what it would be like. You know you think you know and when you get there you realize it takes focus, knowledge and expertise to sail  effortlessly. You have to be in control of the boat. You are the captain! You cannot let winds and fears win you over. It was pretty scary at first, but I did it anyway…

Quite often we let strong winds of adversity distract us from the main vision or we simply give up and go back to the shore. In order to get things done, we must claim our power. We cannot have somebody else take over or we cannot allow life events control the desired outcome.
We all want to become a rare diamond….but are YOU  ready for some heat, pressure, and a lot of delicate carving….?

My golden rule of breakthrough:
When you stop talking yourself out of success, stop talking yourself out of being under pressure you have breakthroughs. If you want to experience any personal growth, your booty will be kicked. You will be criticized for being ambitious. You will be told what YOU can earn and what you can become, but only you can set your boundaries and do not let others change your views.

Secret #1 Knowing
When you  know what you want  at a very deep level and see yourself getting what you want…you become unstoppable. Be honest. Set an intention so strong that you feel it vibrating in every cell of your being. Honesty with yourself can open doors to miracles in life, things happening the way you want.

Knowing what you want will increase your faith. It will put you on the right course. Sometimes we doubt ourselves because we are not sure about what we truly want.  Sometimes we block our vision by our doubts. Imagine, if my friend did not know how to sail or where to go…It would be a disaster!!!
If you know what you want in life, never say, “I cannot do this…It is too overwhelming or I do not have means to achieve it…” Stop this self-sabotage immediately by writing down all the necessary steps you can take to achieve your dreams. Let your “secret wants” become your accomplished visions in your mind. See it first!

Secret # 2 LOVE
When you love what you do….people feel it and follow YOU. When you love who you are, you will choose what you love to do and will feel WORTHY of having the best life!
Do not waste time on what gives you very little joy! Focus on the activities that allow personal and professional GROWTH. Growth brings MORE LOVE in. When you witness your personal transformation, you become excited about life again. You see change and you want MORE of it.

Secret # 3 TRUST
When you trust yourself to achieve Big Goals, God will match your goals and your dreams. God says “I give according to your faith.”..so here is your answer! 4

In working with women I noticed that sometimes women want to look feminine but use sex appeal instead. I ask “Why is it important”? I do not get it. Bikinis, mini skirts, revealing shirts. Is that truly showing your professionalism? Well, unless you live on the island and even then modesty to some degree is always good.

For all my ladies friends.. Trust yourself to be a real woman. Do not try to create a sex appeal to attract customers. Do not use your looks to make a difference. You have a lot of inner power to impact others being a real woman. It is ENOUGH.

You must be around women who know their WHY and women who share their knowledge with you, support you, collaborate with you and help you genuinely without any agenda.

Secret #4. Know who you are

Know who you are– A WOMAN! When a woman goes through the challenging times in her life and comes out of them without losing her dignity, she shines like a diamond because she knows her personal power. She becomes LIMITLESS. She is FIERCE and UNSTOPPABLE!

However, women are often ashamed of their darkest life moments or do not share it with others until their soul cries. As I was going through the divorce, I had to be careful what I could share with others. It was a very difficult time in my life, but I was blessed with friends I could trust to share my journey with.  I saw a lot of pain in my experiences…They saw an inspirational and transformational message. I held onto their faith in me until I regained my power.

I dedicated my time to studying powerful women. I learned that almost every successful woman had experienced losses or failures, but she persevered. These women surrounded themselves with powerful women as their support system.

Are you surrounding yourself with strong women you can learn from?

Secret # 5 Do it anyway

Ladies, You can wear heels, put a little red dress on and OWN your place in life. Do not loose your feminine sweet side for the sake of being accepted in the man’s world. BE YOU! Do it anyway. Your inner joy of being a woman should never be controlled by the world’s standards.
It is your GIFT.

Discovering your life purpose: 3 simple questions you can ask yourself

Where am I now? Am I at the right place? Where do I want to be?

That is the question many women ask themselves when they start thinking about their future. As I was hiking one evening, I thought about the path I was taking. Even though the hiking trail was not new to me, I was still excited! I love spring and hiking in the spring is so refreshing, new and makes you really happy! I knew I would see new flowers, blooming trees and enjoy a peaceful evening. My focus was to enjoy the hike and finish it with a new sense of joy and peace in my heart. Some self-help gurus call it “mindful hiking” but I call it “reconnecting with myself time”

As we set our mind to discover our purpose and complete our journey we get caught up in the unknown. We get scared of what is ahead of us. We all want to know the final outcome. We want to control the outcome. Sometimes the answer can be quite scary— NO ANSWER. We do not always know the right answer. We do not often see the best solutions and all the amazing possibilities because we focus on the problem. The problem becomes the center of our life. We get stuck. We carry other people burdens without realizing they have their OWN journey to complete. We cannot see solutions because our “inner closet” is packed with STUFF that no longer matters and things we cannot change in life.

We do not always see the answer and it is simply okay. Sometimes having NO answer is better than doing something just for the sake of doing a project. We love to get busy, but being busy is not going to accomplish anything. It will keep you exhausted and burned out. Passion is what drives you forward.

Sometimes you might get the answer, and it is not always  going to be the answer you wanted, but it will move you forward. It will be your next step towards your real purpose.  Quite often, the answer is deep within your mind, and it is buried under the layers of fears, uncertainty, doubts, little self-love and other issues that block you to see the answer you need. Because we are uncertain we are not sure about desires and dreams. We ask ourselves three burning questions:

  • How do we discover our answers?
  • How do we know what we want?
  • How do we become clear?

First of all, write down everything you love and do not love about your life. Write down all the events that have happened, your feelings, your thoughts. Just let it all out on the notepad. That is how you will discover your answers.

If we do know what we want, do we have enough confidence to get it done? Can we leave all the stuff behind us and just focus on our dream and passion? Are we going to be judged for being risk takers? Ask yourself, “If I had all confidence, no fear, no doubts, what would I want?”

In our pursuit of regaining clarity, we must purge and let go of all that holds us stuck. It starts with you.  You can clean your house, let go of old memories, old energy, and clean your house all over. You should cleanse your body and remove toxins. It will give you the clarity you need to make new decisions and see your purpose eventually. It is possible to be unstuck, and to free yourself from the chains of toxic relationships, a career that does not reflect your interests and passions, bad health and financial crisis.

In the midst of our crisis we deal with fears. How can we overcome fears that are weighing us down? Do you remember the movie “What about Bob?” Take baby steps. Just baby steps.

I can give you one answer. Until you fed up with where you are at this very moment, your MUST will ALWAYS be YOUR “may be”. It must motivate you to get things done and you have NO choice, but to transform your life. Once you direct your thoughts to seek solutions and start doing something every day rather than nothing, your MAY BE will turn into MUST…

The question is.

How strong is your pain of living the way you are living now? What do you want to change in your life? Do you want to feel a relief? The disappointments can make you look into your soul and help you raise above all your challenges and move on. Be grateful for challenging seasons and know they train you to be more. They help you climb the hardest mountains so you can see everything you need to see when you get to the top. You regain clarity through your challenges. They help you remove and let go of everything that is not aligned with your values.

The good thing is you can still have fun and enjoy your life once you learn to enjoy your journey. The key is to be present in each moment. You are always going to be learning. You will always be evolving. You will always let go. You will love. You will never stop growing.

Do what you love. As my friend says, “Do what feeds your soul not what feeds your ego!” Very true. Our ego will always block our vision. Our purpose is bigger than our ego. Then this journey with all life challenges will be worthy, exciting and rewarding to you and others. It is not about the winning the battle or overcoming trials…it is about overcoming your ego and becoming a person you are meant to be!

How To Overcome Self-Sabotage: 3 Beliefs That Can Frustrate You

1094027_10153067503475463_777139257_oIt was a beautiful Saturday morning. I was enjoying a cup of coffee on the patio of a local coffee shop.  Right before our session, my client expressed his desire to feel balanced and motivated. We talked about ups and downs in the world of a business owner, a man who was going through a few personal challenges, a father who did his best to support his kids. In order to help him have breakthroughs I had to understand where he was in life at that moment and how he viewed himself. Basically, I had to read his life story to get a good picture.

During our 90 minutes coaching session, we have covered top 3 beliefs that could frustrate us, sabotage our goals and what he could do to overcome self-sabotage.

1. Lack of passion.

Sometimes when we are exhausted we have a belief that we are losing our passion, a sense of purpose and become unclear about our direction in life.  Just a few years ago, I have also lost my passion, but not because I was no longer interested in doing what I did. I was simply exhausted. I was not sleeping well and did not take care of my body. I was going through the most ugly divorce and  it was very stressful. I had to accept where I was and stop beating myself  up. It did not mean I had to feel sorry for myself, but I learned to be more kind and loving with one person I saw in the mirror every day— Tatyana!

I had to take care of my basic needs: sleep, good food, exercise, and lots of prayers.

And…You can reignite your passion by taking care of your basic needs first. You must balance yourself and get back to feeling normal. When you feel exhausted and depressed, the best thing you can do is SLEEP! You must sleep at least 9 hours, eat healthy clean meals, and drink plenty of water. It is very simple yet we avoid it.

Remember, your passion is ENERGY. When your energy reserves are low, you cannot feel excited about life. You must replenish your energy bank reserves. Then you can decide what you love to do and what you are passionate about. Until you feel good again, you will not recognize your passions. I advised my client  to increase self-care to reignite a sense of direction and his passions.

2. Choose words wisely.

Words can be our worst self-sabotaging tools! My client said ” I do not value MONEY. It does not longer matter”. I said, “A-ha! Now I see why you have money issues!”  Because he did not value money, money stopped showing up.  He has lost passion in life, and he associated his money flow with his passion. Since he has lost his passion money was no longer important.

But sometimes you have to respect what supports your life to avoid stressful life situations.

Words carry power. What you love, loves you. What you discredit, discredits you. You can talk yourself into success. You can talk yourself into failure. It is a choice! Words we speak can sabotage our own success. Watch your words. There is life and death in the power of your tongue. A wise man chooses words that can build him up. In his case he was using words that devalued what he was doing…and he was getting what he was choosing.

3. Be true to yourself.

When you try to be like “THEM” you will never be authentic. It will exhaust you. It will frustrate you. It will eventually lead you to the wrong relationships or business decisions. People you meet will reflect who you think you should be and you will feel fake. You have one life to live. Step aside from all you have been doing and ask yourself, “Do I force myself to be something I am not? Do I listen to my heart or what my ego says?”

When we try to be like them, we cannot blossom. Remember a daisy will never be a rose but yet they all have such a beauty and play its role in our lives. When you are true to YOURSELF, the right doors will open for YOU.

I want to finish my article with a poem that reminds us the power of being true to yourself

“Be True to You”:

As you set out on life’s road
unsure of the path you’ll go,
the most important thing you can do
is to always be true to “you”

Always remember who you are
in moments of struggle or fear.
Never forget or give up on
the hopes and dreams you hold dear

There will be setbacks and rejection
and moments of failure too,
but you must overcome any frustration
to achieve the potential of you.

Don’t forget to smile, or laugh,
or to live in the present;
no matter where life takes you
make every memory pleasant.

As you travel along your journey,
know that you’re never alone
and I’ll always be here for you
should you need the comfort of home.

Today I want you to ask yourself three questions,

1. Do I try to be like “Them”?

2. Do I choose words wisely?

3. Do I choose the best self-care for my body?

Have a great week!

Three big lessons you can learn from your haters and how to win your battles!

Can we love haters who challenge us and why should we love them? Once my mentor told me ‘Tatyana, love them!” For a brief moment, I thought she was so wrong. How can I love people who hate me even the ones who try to hide behind their masks.

With social media platforms such as Facebook Twitter and YouTube it is easier to post a nasty comment and react with anger and pain. We become quite negative about our haters on social media especially if they attack our business, our dreams and goals. We just give them a piece of mind! Sounds familiar?

But how do we handle it?

I have noticed that quite very successful entrepreneurs LOVE posting about their haters and how they stood up for their values and showed others how to handle the ones who were jealous of their success or how they should respond to the attacks on social media.

What If tell you one BIG secret?!   Haters are YOUR TEACHERS. They are not your enemies. They are NOT your friends. Just teachers.

  • They teach you how to respond with love
  • They teach you how to love yourself.
  • They teach you to recognize your hidden emotions.
  • They teach you about your self-worth.  Do you feel you have to prove you are MORE than them?
  • They show YOUR flaws. What if that hater is showing you something you do not like about yourself?

They teach us three important lessons so we can clear personal deep issues and have a better life.

Lesson 1. Swing effect

Kids love to be pushed on the swing.  I still remember my mom gently pushing me on the swing in my grandma’s backyard.  I felt free and happy. But then there were moments when kids I played with would purposely push me on the swing to upset me and If I asked them to stop, they simply ignored my demands.

Do you get my point? How do you respond to people when they push your buttons?

As we deal with haters, no matter how strong we have tried to look in dealing with them, we still respond with negative emotions by acknowledging their presence. We try to prove we are much stronger than them.

But the key is not your strength..It is your peace and love in your heart towards the situation. You may say, “Yeah, Right…How is that possible?”

But in order to achieve that, you must become love, feel peace in your heart and create harmony within. You cannot give love if you do not own love. If somebody swings hate into your direction…send some love back. Love or hate…your choice. It will come to back to you.  What do you want to receive in life? Love or hate? I am sure LOVE.

Not everyone can respond with love. It requires practice.

What you give…you receive…Do you want to be embraced with a wave of love or wave of….toxic poop?

It is your choice…if they send negative energy….send love instead by staying calm and visualizing a ball of beautiful sparkling energy going back to them on the same swing.

Lesson 2. True Emotions

Notice what emotions have surfaced. Few days I chatted with a very successful coach on Facebook. She has tried to hide her true emotions after she was bullied by another successful woman.  She shared her feelings with others and encouraged others to ignore haters. She said she was perfectly fine, and she was not paying attention to her “bully”. However, I could see she has given all her attention to the one who upset her the most. She gave part of her power away and I had to explain to her that her bully was her teacher. If she did not have something that needs to be addressed, the bully would not be present in her life. Ignoring haters WILL not  change what is going inside of you. They will come back into your life until you learn a lesson.

The only way to stop all the madness is to recognize their value in your growth. Be grateful that you have been shown the areas in your life you could work on. You will be able to create space for something wonderful in your life once you clear negative emotions built up within you. YES, be grateful to your “hater”.  He is not your enemy…got it? He or she is YOUR teacher.

Work on releasing all the negative emotions. If you felt you have been attacked, work on the matters of self- love and trust towards yourself and others. I do EFT, meditations, journaling, integrated energy therapy and lot of prayers. I turn to God in prayer to reveal to me what needs to be worked on.

Do you trust or do not trust yourself? Write it down.

Do you forget or afraid to give love? Write it down.

Do you love being kind, caring towards yourself? Write it down.

Lesson 3. Stay cool

No matter what–stay calm.

In Russia we say “stay calm as a chilled cucumber! ” Yep. Do not react with your negative barf….respond with love by acknowledging their different or unique insights. Be open to see their point of view. There is always something to learn.

Remember it is only their opinion. But it all goes back to you. People become your mirror.  Ask yourself, “What do I need to work on in my life?” Try to stay calm as your face challenging people. They are in your life for a reason and often for a season.

No matter how successful you are, your tough love teachers  are not always going to be your friends. They are people who challenge you or people you deal on a daily basis, so you can learn certain life lessons, clean up and achieve more.

In summary, I want to give a piece of advice- be gentle to yourself as well. Make sure your self-care is top notch. Sleep 8-9 hours every night, eat vegetables and fruits, eliminate sugars and processed foods. Eat clean and drink plenty of water. Laugh more and take 30 min walks every day. It is basic but it will support you through challenging times.

How to use corny gratitude practices to rebuild your life and heal your heart

Hi, there!

It is a Sunday afternoon. I usually love writing on Sundays and I have not written in a while. I have been debating what I should share with you that could make a difference in your life and something you can start doing right away to experience breakthroughs. It might be corny or cheesy but you know it is simple. It works!

This year as I faced a few personal life and family challenges, the biggest challenge in 2015 was my Gratitude challenge. Right after my divorce was final in December 2014, I started a brand new divorce recovery challenge— a gratitude challenge.  I realized that if one thing I had to change, I had to change myself. I also saw if I wanted to change relationships with a father of my boys I had to change. If I wanted to be the best MOM I had to take an inventory of my mind and my heart.

Gratitude was the instrumental tool in my recovery. Gratitude became my number #1 choice.

Gratitude has helped me to weed all the negative thoughts, complaints, blames out of my mind and shape new positive and abundant thoughts. Gratitude helped me to cope and handle everyday stress and find blessings even when I could only count a few of them. It opened my heart to find blessings in the places I never thought was possible.

I saw the biggest opportunities were within my mind. If I wanted to be more, I needed to feed my mind with the most empowering thoughts, love, and positive energy. Gratitude practice became my discipline. It protected me from anger, envy and self-pity.

When I was little, my parents had a big garden. Every weekend I was working in the garden and was pulling the weeds out just to come back the following weekend and do it all over. It was a very important task for me. I had to make sure my garden was clean and cared for. I was so proud of it. We had a great harvest every fall and I was a quite accomplished gardener. It felt great to see the results of my labor and enjoy fresh veggies and berries.

When I was reading about Sir John Templeton, a legendary philantropist and investor, and his letter he had included in his Christmas card,  I was intrigued and it made a total sense to me. It was about our mind being a garden we should tend to.

According to the source, Sir John Templeton wrote a Christmas Letter to his family in 1962:

He looked at the mind as a garden: “If you exercise no control, it will become a weed patch and a source of shame and misery. If you exercise wise control, then it will be filled with God’s miracles and become a place of indescribable beauty. You are free to choose which. How can you do it? Simply, for example, develop a habit of looking at each thought as you would a plant. If it is worthy, if it fits the plan you desire for your mind, cultivate it. If not, replace it. How do you get it out of your mind? Simply by putting in its place two or three thoughts of love or worship, for no mind can dwell on more than two or three thoughts at one time.

“Circumstances outside the garden of your mind do not shape you. You shape them. For example, if you expect treachery, allowing those thoughts to dwell in your mind, you will get it. If you fill your mind with thoughts of love, you will give love and get it. If you think little of God, He will be far from you. If you think often of God, the Holy Spirit will dwell more in you. The glory of the universe is open to every man. Some look and see. Some look and see not.
“Gardens are not made in a day. God gave you one lifetime for the job. Control of your garden or your mind grows with practice and study of the wisdom other minds have bequeathed to you. He who produces an item of unique beauty in his garden or his mind may have a duty to give that seed to others. As your body is the dwelling place of your mind, so is your mind the dwelling place of your soul. The mind you develop is your dwelling place for all your days on earth, and the soul you develop on earth may be the soul you are stuck with for eternity. God has given you the choice.”
My challenge to you is to write 10 blessings every day. Gratitude will be the best tool to clear your mind, your beautiful God’s gift.
The best side effects of gratitude:
1. Giving heart and generosity
2. Forgiving heart
3. Stress-free life
4. Uplifting others and focusing on helping less fortunate
5. Becoming clear about your life purpose and mission
6. Career or business success
7. Better relationships
8. Clear mind
9. Much more…
