How to infuse your life with passion by letting go…

Are you seeking more passion and inspired moments in your life? I realized one thing that in order for me to fill my mind, my soul and my heart with passion and inspiration I had to let go of the past. Totally. Completely. I had to create a flow in my life and allow joy, abundance and success come back to me.

It was a Friday evening. While listening to the clock on my fireplace and sipping on a glass of merlot, I reflected on situations that happened to me in the past. Does the past come back to haunt you when you think you released it? How do you know that you totally let go of your past?  Is it a cycle of old and new emotions that never ends? How do you know that you have totally let go… and how did you let go? Do you know if it was the right way and for the right reasons?  What if …when we let go…it comes back even stronger, but in a different way? Is it all a total cycle of madness?

For me personally, the intention was a big deal. For me it was the forgiveness and awareness that what happened in my life was a life lesson. Often God uses crisis situations to get our attention and make us stronger. Learning to let go is asking God to release you from the past and ask the ghost of the past to release you. It had to be a strong intention, so strong that I felt it was a force pushing through me like a strong army tank. I needed to release people from my life that were “energy vampires” and unhealthy situations that were preventing my personal and business growth. I knew that the pain of “letting go” would be less than the pain of holding on to it, letting it intoxicate my body and mind.  It started with a decision to let go, even though I was afraid to let it go or hope that it would work out somehow and dissolve on its own.

But, let me ask you… Do we really want to let go of the past? Does it serve some crazy life purpose or our own ego? We hold onto things and put them on the shelf “just in case”. We put people in this “special treasure chest” and keep them at bay, so we can control situation.  Then we see that other people do that to our lives and our hearts.  However, the cycle has to stop. It’s time to live a healthy life.  We feel it is totally out of perfect alignment and it is a total discord or chaos. I am sure you’ve heard people say, “Cut the cords with him or her …Let it go!”

I did… sometimes I believed that I did… sometimes I did release it all for certain. I remember the nights I prayed, “God, take these people out of my life and take me out of their life…” I knew some situations were drops of poison. Often this poison seems sweet, and it is hard to let go… however, it is a BIG must!

You would think, “Tatyana that is easy to say…” No, I did not say it would be easy.  I know it is not like a balloon that you let flow into the sky and watch as it disappears into the clouds.  We must know the main reason and motive why we should let go of certain things.

The level of understanding will come when we can cut cords with old relationships, old ideas and old business partnerships. Set the intention to RELEASE and ask God to release you from the past, old ideas and events… that they be released from your mind, heart and soul. God knows your intention and your decision.

Remember, when we do that, we enter into a new field of energy and we will experience a new growth. Like branches of a tree that often need to be cut to experience new growth and flourish! I grew up in Russia and my parents used to have a very beautiful orchard with apple, plum and cherry trees. We had to cut branches from these trees every year so that they could be healthier and grow more… in order for these trees to heal faster we let them rest, nurtured them with water, sun and time.

Remember once you decide to let go, all you have is TIME. Time can heal if you let it. You must trust the process. No one knows the outcome, no matter how eager we are to know. That is the magic of true faith… God loves surprises! Believe me, it will be better than EVER… once you let go. The one person you can trust is YOU!

Once you learn to listen to your heart,  you will learn how to let go  and manifest things in your life that are meant to be.  Good things are waiting for you to let go so they can RUSH into your life!

Lets have a coffee talk about your story…

Before you write a press release think about three things…Do you want to build a list, to reach media or sell your product? I am sure you want to achieve all of that and believe me you can… Think of your story as something you would share with your friend at the coffee shop while enjoying a delicious cup of mocha latte. Would you tell a boring story or be excited naturally about your news?  In the world of media you are dealing with people who want to read your story and share with others. Trust me a good story can make you famous and bring you a lot of success!

So grab a cup of your favorite coffee and lets talk…

I am giving you a check list of everything you need to consider to get media attention, reach new customers and create viral online traffic.

One more thing…make  sure that your story is fun to read! No more boring press releases with news that nobody cares. Now, lets go…Here is my list below:

  1. What is the major problem your product will solve for your buyers?
  2. What are the wow factors of your product/service? Name three things at least.
  3. What is so revolutionary and extraordinary about your product?
  4. Can it create a major breakthrough in your niche?
  5. Comparing to other products similar to yours what is so different about your product? Show benefits that your competitors forgot to mention.
  6. How can your customers get an instant access to your product?
  7. Do you have a free sample, a free report, a free video training program? Give link.
  8. How can media contact you for the interview? Make sure you offer the right contact info
  9. The most important facts and credibility points must be always included

Now you have the raw content for your story…But here is your next guidelines to craft a press release:

  1. Think about your headline: Only 70 characters. Short and sweet
  2. Your summary: In 2 -3 sentences tell me what is there for me and what do I lose if I dod not read your story. Get me going so I can pay attention
  3. Your main story: Introduction is very important.  It is your grand entry. Make an impression with your news and how it is going to change your customers lives.
  4. Expert status: Add your expert quotes and credibility points. Show what you know and your views on the topic. Show some intelligence, my friend!
  5. Benefits: Write what your product will do for your customers and where they can get an instant access to it.
  6. Contact details: Include your contact page for the media or link to your media kit.
  7. Bio: Include bio about you and your achievements (short about 100 words)
  8. SEO done right: Make sure include links in your press story.   4 to 5 links ( to your blog, your videos, your lead capture pages and so on)
  9. Keywords: Use two to three keywords phrases only per 500 word press release
  10. Press release submission: I do not recommend free press release sites.

How to write a consumer focused press release to get targeted buyer leads…

When it comes to writing a press story we think we should only focus on getting some media attention. We try to add some spice and uniqueness to our story because we know media professionals have very limited time to read and choose what best suits them.

However, if you want to reach buyers directly you must consider the following rules before you write a press release or a mini pitch. Remember if even your send your story to an editor she or he is still a human being and she/he would want to know if their readers benefit from your advice:

First, pay attention to your headlines. It is a very important element for your story that can bring your traffic or they delete it and never consider it regardless if your story is filled with the most updated, fun, exciting content!

Here is what you must consider when you write headlines.

  • You have 10 seconds to make an impression
  • You can write the press release first before you come up with the headline.

It will give you a direction about your headline if you have a hard time coming up with the ideas. If you only focus on a headline you might experience a writer block or miss the important information you want to share.

  • Headlines should be about 70 characters ( use same rule for tweets and facebook posts)
  • Hot trendy stories give your Ideas
  • Do reviews of  hot emerging trends
  • Ask yourself if you want to get media attention or consumer focused?
  • Talk about your major clients and achievements they had with your services
  • List all the information you want to include
  • Arrange in the order of importance
  • Say what you mean. Be simple.
  • Avoid jargon words. You are a talking to another human being. It is very important to keep communication simple and open.
  • Focus on the results in the press release…( achievement, news)

Before you sent out the story follow these rules:

Let the story sit overnight. Do not edit. Wait.

See the content for overuse of the same words

Grammar check

Choose the right press release submission services: do not use free sites unless you know they appear in Google search and good for link building.

I recommend Best press release sites for link building that have FREE press release option

Idea Marketers, PR Zoom, 24-7Pressrelease, SEOPRESSRELEASES.com

Facebook Timeline and Business Pages…A Good Combo?

From the desk of

Tatyana Gann

Nashville TN

In today article in Entrepreneur magazine, Facebook Timeline and Business Pages, Perfect Together the author Mikal E. Belicove, an Entrepreneur magazine columnist & contributing writer, was sharing his insights  on Facebook Timeline.  Can Timeline really impact the consumer engagements with brands?

I believe Facebook Timeline is allowing a business page to look like an open book rather a traditional business with the closed doors. Timeline can create a fun and energetic environment on your fanpage that can attract a new audience, converting them into loyal buyers. According to Mikail, ” brands are enjoying an average 46 percent increase in engagement per post. ”

As a PR strategist, I would recommend every company owner to become a story teller using photos, videos and share daily news. What a perfect opportunity to share your message, become a little more personal, relate to people issues and be a solution provider. It is about trust my friends!

I have recently discovered a very simple platform called Fanpage Toolkit.  I interviewed Aaron Friedman, CEO of Fanpage Toolkit and in our conversation he pointed out something very profound; “Small businesses and mid-size companies experience the greatest growth when they have an emotional connection with their customers. It starts with loyalty. Then, people trust. In the end, people buy. Fanpage Toolkit provides an opportunity to foster this kind of relationship with consumers and build a strong bond”.

You can create a fun and energetic environment using this platform that can attract a new audience, converting them into loyal buyers.

Here is what you need to keep in mind:

1. Be original.  Do not try to copy other brands and their style.

2. Use your own photos and create your own videos for your products. I prefer real raw content than polished borrowed photos. Take photos  everywhere you go. Show your personality!

3.  Communicate and talk to your customers. Ask questions.   Bring solutions fast!

4.  Contests are great for your exposure.

5.  Host a fundraiser for a good cause and involve the community in your work. Write press releases that shows your community work!

These little strategies for your biz can make a difference but you have to do them consistently. Nothing is magical!

Always ask to share. Always seek new creative ways. Learn from the best brands but stick to your story and be original.

Sign up for Fanpage Toolkit today!

What can a tiny press release do for your business?

Spring is FINALLY here!  On Sunday afternoon, I enjoyed precious time with my boys in one of the many beautiful parks in Nashville, Cheekwood Botanical Garden. We love to spend time in the gardens at Cheekwood and enjoy the serenity and enchanting beauty of this place.

The entire garden recently underwent a major makeover with large contributions from the city and private donations which were used to bring in the best florists and designers possible to ensure spectacular results. People visiting the garden after it’s completion felt happy and you could see the smiles on everyone’s faces. Nature was awake. Trees were blooming, kids were playing…you could feel a shift in the energy. I overheard people saying, “I feel alive here!”

This brings a good question to mind… How do you feel about your business? Do you feel alive doing what you do? Or, do you have a writer’s block… a lack of creative marketing ideas? What is HAPPENING with you?!?

That is why I decided to do something fun and creative. I am starting a new training series called “The PR Cosmetic Makeover: Fast Track Press Release Strategies to Get More Online Visibility!”

We will showcase various press release strategies to obtain more traffic, common mistakes people make and why they do not get the exposure they deserve!

Are you ready to reach a new audience and have your own voice in social media?

One of the simplest PR tools is a well crafted press release. It will surprise you how much it can do for your growing business. What can a Press Release do?

  • A press release can quickly and effectively provide news about events, products,  meetings, workshops, training events, and more including fun activities from fundraisers to black tie gala events… all to reach your audience.
  • Linking strategy to obtain better SEO…
  • It shows how different your story is in comparison to your competition and what readers can learn from your story.
  • Trends: A press release provides an opportunity for you to share your take on why a product is unique and how it is important to your clients. The story ideas can give the media a new angle that they can present and how it fits into current topic trends.
  • It can help your customers to define your vision when you are making new decisions.
  • It builds relationships with the media because a press releases are at their fingertips to establish that first connection. So make sure your press release is well written to make a good impression . They can read press releases on your website as a part of an online press kit or if they do research for your products and your name.
  • Press releases give you a professional image… and can make you the GO- TO person to learn about everything on the topic(s) you write or talk about.
  • A press release verifies the facts…and builds trust with your audience.
  • Press Releases can talk about updates in your business
  • Press Releases can share news on the company growth and increase in sales.

Make sure you incorporate press releases on your website by creating a page on your blog that says “media” or “News”.

Think of a press release as your support system. Your customers trust, but they verify. Press Releases can be the platform to show them you are trustworthy and it gives them the “green light” to share with others.

Have a great week!

Top Ten Things You Must Know To Write Bio For Your Publicity

“If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don’t write, because our culture has no use for it. Anais Nin

Do you feel scared, nervous or frustrated about writing your own bio?

If you are about to write a biography for your website you want to make sure you know what you want to achieve with it.  Depending on what niche you are in you must create a compelling story that sells YOU and your service. It is very important for your brand building, your brand identity!

If you are in a speaking business, you must talk about your journey, challenges and how your story impacted people and your vision for the next 5 to 10 years.  Give people three to five factors about yourself they can remember you by. It is very IMPORTANT to know what your persona is. Make sure it is not fake to fit into what customers want but be true to yourself.

If you are a writer give examples of your writing and reactions of your fans. Show the progress and the culture of your community.  Speak from your heart as well.  Speak the truth. Just because you want to land a story with a major magazine does not mean you must try to please them by denying who you are at the core.

If you are in a coaching/mentoring business, your bio should  describe your passion for mentoring, your discovery of your true passion and point out what your coaching has done for their life and business.

A good bio always sells YOU and your products. It is an important part of your media kit which we discussed earlier.

Now let me ask you, do you use photos? It is a great publicity tool.  Photos are cheap and effective. Use photos that show relationships between them and show photos of events where actions are taking place not sterile, boring passport looking photos. Laugh, frown, jump and smile. Be different…Be natural. Show your personality. It connects people with YOUR story! Example, my work in a studio in Nashville with my mentor David Cooper. Photos like that create stories and memories.

Here are some questions that can help you to create a good bio for your website and your publicity:

1. What words would you use to describe yourself? What words do others use to describe you?
2. How you would like to be perceived by others?
3. What are you passionate about?
4. What is your mission?
5. What talents and skills do you have to offer others?
6. What makes you an asset to the society?
7. What steps have you taken to share your brand with others?

8. Do you feel you have a strong presence?
9. What life lessons you can share that can change other people lives?

10. Any there any particular events that have changed your life?

Your brand identity is very important for you and your customers. Knowing what you stand for, your core values, your vision is the foundation of solid business. When you have a great business bio in your media kit that reflects the core values and your vision it is a great way to build long term relationships.

Make sure to print the questions out and use them for writing your bio.

Let us know how we can help you to craft a perfect bio for your website, your media kit to give you and your business a better publicity

Like, love or dislike?

Don’t worry when you are not recognized, but strive to be worthy of recognition.”  Abraham Lincoln

What if Facebook had a Dislike Button… would it matter?

Yesterday in my class with @MariSmith the leading social media expert we talked about raising our ranking by clicking like button…She encouraged to ask our readers to like our posts and leave comments to increase our engagement on Facebook.  But imagine if we had a dislike button? What would happen to your reputation?  I think social media platforms as Facebook forced all of us to show our true hearts and be more authentic in order to create a good following of loyal fans.

What does it matter to you? Does it REALLY matter? I am talking about our reputation, our publicity…What do we care about the most?  Being Enchanting or simply being honest?

Recognition…How important is it to us? What does it matter? How can we get more recognition for what we do and build our name in the world where every brand is striving to be known and talked about. In a brand new book entitled, ” Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions”, author Guy Kawasaki talks about being enchanting, nice, authentic and REAL.

After I read this book I saw what the true purpose of a business should be…It is not being TOUGH and CRUEL. It is about being enchantic, nice and dimplomatic that brings recogntion!

Personally, I believe in having class, being humble and gentle with people, but also being soft spoken, with a serving heart.

How did it affect you when Facebook introduced the “like button” to help make blog posts more noticeable? Or better still, how were you affected when they replaced “become a fan” with “Like A Page”?

  • How did you view yourself?
  • Did it feel like a kick in the booty?
  • Did it affect your pride?
  • What difference did it make in the way you present yourself within social media circles?

For a lot of business owners, it became motivation to show off. I mean in a good way. They were encouraged to bring better content and more helpful information that could serve the audience. It finally became about giving, serving, entertaining and caring.

I think a “like” or a “dislike” button builds awareness  of who we are today and how our audience views us.  It makes us think twice before we post content or express ourselves.  Our thoughts can control our tongue. The Tongue can sometimes be like fire, causing negative publicity for our business or it can be the fire that warms people hearts, opening them up!  You can truly create Smokin’ Hot PR for your business!!

It does not mean we should do everything to please others, but being professional is going to make a difference in how we are perceived. Being enchanting, being polite. But imagine…what if we did have “dislike” button on Facebook… how would it affect your business? I just imagine that a scarcity mindset would kick in for some folks and they would act out of fear!!!

Facebook truly is about bringing positive publicity to people and their businesses, while providing you a chance to prove it! It is about your reputation! Thank goodness there is no “dislike button”! We would have a lot of critics snooping around and disliking what we do… a lot of friends would become our judges… and they would become our “enemies” not friends! It is time to be aware of our goals, passions, dreams and live in truth. When we do we attract people who love and like us and then we do not have to worry about the rest of the world~!

Are you ready for Facebook to give you recognition and build your business?

Treat yourself as a business owner and VALUE yourself! Then, and only then will Facebook provide you with all you need: the right connections, the right presence. If you want to portray yourself as a serious business owner, avoid games like “Mafia Wars”, “Farmville”, etc. Of course be yourself, but know the boundaries. Be respectable by respecting others. Then you will never have to fear being “disliked”, because you will follow your true calling! When you love what you do, you learn to show it to people around you, creating a true following while being recognized in your own circles!

7 Things l Learned From My Martial Arts Bootcamp…

(This photo was taken at my Birthday party. Tough girl! )

I love martial arts! I always wanted to be tough and learn martial arts and even had a desire to learn how to shoot a real gun! I started taking the classes few years ago and then stopped right before the birth of my kids. My kids called me “Russian spy mommy” when they saw mommy practicing her moves. We joke about it quite often in our house.. Few months ago I went to a self defense seminar  where my son’s three instructors were giving a 60 min lesson to women in our community, and I was quite surprised how many women wanted to be in that class but only few of them showed up. Sounds familiar? I am sure it does. Let me tell you more.

Well, when I got to class I was quite nervous, and did not know if I could do what they taught; though, I took Martial Arts few years ago, and I realized it was time to get back in to get that cool boost in self esteem. I saw few familiar faces of few moms, and I felt more safe just to know that I was not a crazy mom who wants to learn how to fight bad guys. I hope I will not have to do but what I want to do is to share the principles I learned from the class that were so profound and so simple that I had to write them down and share with you..

Life does not have to be so complicated as well as your  business. Unfortunately, we often do complicate our life, and then we wonder why we are so worn out and cannot enjoy every moment. Because we are such complex we think we must complicate things!!! I do not think so….what about you?

Life does not have to be so complicated. Keep it simple!

One lesson I learned is that you donot have to fight that big guy in order to win. The knowledge is the power. You must learn how to be aware of your surroundings and find areas where a  big guy cannot outperform you and honestly it is your mind and your knowledge of certain strategies. He may be bigger and can conquer anyone but he may loose in a fight with you because you know more. How often we are intimidated by big dawgs in our industry?

We often give up before we even try

We often give up because we find excuses of not having enough money, enough time or we are not good enough.. For whom?  I think Jack Canfield in one of his books said that when you were 30 you were afraid of what people thought of you; when you were 40 you just wondered of what people thought of you and when you reached 60 you realized nobody really cared and you have wasted time comparing yourself with others. I would agree on that with Mr Canfield.

My Business Tip: We all have the same destination in mind but we might take the different paths. Acquire knowledge of who you are first and then use it as your weapon in your business, the same way you would use it if you had to fight 250 pound guy on the street. You might not beat him up with your fists and knock him down, but you might affect the outcome with your knowledge of his reactions to certain things. That is how business works. Do not fight competition. Do not fight big dawgs. Respect them. Let them be big dawgs in their niche, in their business.

You need to be you today.  Stay in your flow and do not change its direction. We often try to change and be somebody else and we force ourselves to jump on the a different path hoping it will take us faster to our final destination.

1. Acquire knowledge– it is your POWER.

2. Learn about your competition and find what they are NOT doing and you can add to the marketplace. In PR we give our unique story about the same issue the competition is talking about.  We present our points of view and engage into discussions.

3. Do not fight them but respect them. Never bash your competition. It is tacky and what you wish to others you wish to yourself. I often see that media uses PR stunts and negative PR to create more buzz. It might work for some but it is unprofessional and cheap.

4. Discover your strengths and weaknesses and work on them. Use them to your advantage. You can create balance.

5. Be in the flow and do not change that flow. Do not try to complicate things when it does not need to be complicated.

6. Protect your knowledge. It is your best asset.

7. Have fun and learn to play the game! In a business we must approach everything with the right attitude.

Have an awesome weekend my friends!
