Springstead believes that women should not settle for cheap quality skincare. With so many so-called “healthy” skin care lines, which are loaded with fillers and potentially harmful chemicals, the nourishing formula of ESP Botanicals protects and restores your skin… naturally!

Trisha Springstead pointed out, “I have conducted extensive research of countless organic skin care products brands, only to discover that not all of the ingredients are safe and effective. ESP Botanicals have been specifically formulated and developed to contain the highest quality organic ingredients for moms and babies, ensuring only the purest, most natural results!”

Preventing toxic chemical overload, ESP Botanicals brings the most green products to the organic skin care marketplace, creating products that women can feel confident in using for not only their delicate skin, but also for their baby’s gentle skin!

Is your story SWEET enough to give your customers true aha moments?

When I think of the ways we can share a story about our brand I think about ice cream flavors. We go to an ice cream cafe or even a supermarket and our eyes become big, excited about trying new flavors! My children love ice cream and we love to be creative – tasting new flavors and creating new experiences and family memories!

When it comes to sharing a story about your brand, your products and  your name people love to hear stories. Customers love to hear stories. However,  not every business owner is talented and skilled at storytelling.

Storytelling is an art. It requires inspiration, passion and determination to get the point across without sounding like a promotion. It takes digging DEEP into your soul to find what makes your heart sing and finding courage to show this passion to your audience! Think about storytelling times with your kids at your local bookstore! It was not about what you said, but how you said it!  It came from your heart !

Show your customers you are here for them to tell a story that will matter to them. Old rules of PR have changed. It is time for us to embrace the social media and learn the art of storytelling.  A good story requires some personalization. I mentioned many times that bloggers, editors, journalists are HUMAN! They want human connection. They are not hiding behind the cover of your favorite magazine. With new rules of PR storytelling is a huge factor in how your brand is being perceived!

You can humanize the process of writing your stories, your press releases, your pitches and you can improve the readers ability to connect with you and share what you have!  With major changes in the world of PR and social media one thing never goes out of fashion- your story. It might have different flavors, new twists, and you might attract new clients and new business relationships!

Remember very important thing when you are writing a press story.

1. SEO releases are designed to reach buyers and they are for customers to brings solutions

2. Social media releases are  for press, bloggers and customers.

3. Traditional releases announcing your event, product launch can also reach media and customers.

The most innovative “flavor” of a press story is a social media release. For many old school PR pros it brings controversy but for the risk takers, innovators,  creative minds this type of a press release is a perfect way to tell a story! You must learn how it can become a part of your daily business activities.

It is your rare diamond that can shed new light on how your customers view your product. It is a great way to add videos, audio clips.

A well crafted social media release has very important elements:

1. your story

2. videos

3. supporting docs

4. company contacts including social media profiles

5. social book marking sites to get more viral traffic

6. Images you can add to your story.

7. you can make it optimized for search engines to increase traffic

Often people share such stories on their blogs but I recommend Pitch Engine PR and Social Media Platform

Write a story, or retell a  story, link the original story and place it in Pitchengine. You can integrate with Facebook business page if you think it will save you some time!

 Very important factors to consider...

Your social media release is not a traditional release and it will never be. It is more easy going, more engaging and not as official as a traditional or SEO release. I think it can work great if you write a good optimized story! It is not to be shared via wired services.

You can use your social media release when your goal is to create more buzz about what is happening in your business. Get some conversation going.! Then the readers can share your story and link back to your site.

One thing…share it and ask people to share. By including fun photos and videos and links to other important content you are building your brand awareness! Sometimes we must plant the seeds before we reap the harvest!

Have a great day!

Tatyana Gann

How to write a consumer focused press release to get targeted buyer leads…

When it comes to writing a press story we think we should only focus on getting some media attention. We try to add some spice and uniqueness to our story because we know media professionals have very limited time to read and choose what best suits them.

However, if you want to reach buyers directly you must consider the following rules before you write a press release or a mini pitch. Remember if even your send your story to an editor she or he is still a human being and she/he would want to know if their readers benefit from your advice:

First, pay attention to your headlines. It is a very important element for your story that can bring your traffic or they delete it and never consider it regardless if your story is filled with the most updated, fun, exciting content!

Here is what you must consider when you write headlines.

  • You have 10 seconds to make an impression
  • You can write the press release first before you come up with the headline.

It will give you a direction about your headline if you have a hard time coming up with the ideas. If you only focus on a headline you might experience a writer block or miss the important information you want to share.

  • Headlines should be about 70 characters ( use same rule for tweets and facebook posts)
  • Hot trendy stories give your Ideas
  • Do reviews of  hot emerging trends
  • Ask yourself if you want to get media attention or consumer focused?
  • Talk about your major clients and achievements they had with your services
  • List all the information you want to include
  • Arrange in the order of importance
  • Say what you mean. Be simple.
  • Avoid jargon words. You are a talking to another human being. It is very important to keep communication simple and open.
  • Focus on the results in the press release…( achievement, news)

Before you sent out the story follow these rules:

Let the story sit overnight. Do not edit. Wait.

See the content for overuse of the same words

Grammar check

Choose the right press release submission services: do not use free sites unless you know they appear in Google search and good for link building.

I recommend Best press release sites for link building that have FREE press release option

Idea Marketers, PR Zoom, 24-7Pressrelease, SEOPRESSRELEASES.com

Paid: PRLOG, CisionWire, PRWEB

Have a great week!

Can FREE Press Releases Destroy Your Online Reputation?

Are YOU totally frustrated with your PR efforts?

You spend your evenings researching, writing and thinking my press story rocks. You love it. Your biz partners love it..Your submit your story to a free press release site that promises good results. You follow the instruction and believe the hype..

However when it comes to managing your online reputation and your image you must consider few things.  When new business ideas come to you and you want to implement them as soon as possible you must have a good publicity plan to build  and manage your online reputation. Never be cheap. As we say in Russia “A greedy man pays twice” and trust me you will do that.

Do free press releases and free advertising sites do more damage to your business?

My clients often ask me, “Can FREE press releases brand your product? Do they REALLY work in achieving the SEO results you are looking for? ” Well the feedback we see is mixed. It depends on your press release format and  many factors and I will share why they do not work for long term online presence. I do not personally believe in free advertising sites.

However, they can be a good strategy to use a temporary tool in your PR campaign, and I will explain my reasons:

  1. Getting your content into Google News you need to distribute your news, your press releases to a site that is part of the system such as PRWeb or PR Newswire
  2. Not every free press release site can EVEN get your press release into GOOGLE NEWS. Then you spend the entire budget for writing professional press releases about your products, your company events or special announcements and you really miss the opportunity to be seen.
  3. For local internet marketing free press release sites are not good. They are not recommended. I do not recommend for local business marketing campaigns. You must submit to paid press release sites who can do specific local campaigns targeting  your area. These types of press releases cost around 400 dollars for submission alone.
  4. First of all free press releases sites are not welcomed by journalists, bloggers and other media professionals. They do not research them to get news. They are relying on authority sites as PRWEB or CISIONWIRE
  5. Secondly, you cannot add links into the body of your FREE press release. They will NOT allow it. They will ask you to upgrade to a premium service. You are better off using an authority PR services which will discuss in the  next newsletter. It will affect your press release format.
  6. Free press releases are your second choice. You must always submit to paid press releases companies especially if your goal to get into web searches, Google news and be noticed by media. If you even write two press releases a month you will spend about 600 on a press release submission with the best pr service as Cision Wire or PRWeb. I used them both. They will get your story in front of media and also can help to achieve good SEO results.
  7. They are not good for link building. You must have links in your press story that will lead your visitors to your blog and videos. With free press releases it is not possible. Readers will not be able to click on links unless they copy and paste. Some press release sites do provide links and a few allow you to customize the anchor text. (If you’re not familiar with ‘dofollow’ or ‘nofollow’ links, remember that is that the ‘dofollow’ or ‘followed’ links are the links that usually give your SEO benefit. Over 70% of free press release sites don’t give a link.
  8. It is not good for your image especially if you are a well -known author, coach, or a product owner to build your brand with free press releases sites. Bad for branding. Period.
  9. They do not work when you plan to do online reputation repair and when you want to remove negative content from the first page of Google.

Let me ask you, ” Are you truly clear about the direction you want to go? Where do you see yourself in few years? How do you want to look to others?”

I want to hear from you…

News PR Builder Campaign: Your Online Publicity ToolKit For Higher Profits

“Are you ready to start news PR builder campaign without a hiring a public relations specialist  or being a PR  SEO geek?”

You do not have to have a college degree for becoming a public relations specialist in order to efficiently promote your business.  Some public relations agencies would tell you the opposite due to the fact t hey deal with corporate PR where the volume of work is much higher than for a start up business  and a solo entrepreneur.

News PR builder campaigns can allow you to achieve more media coverage and strong online presence. The campaigns take time and preparation. They require the research of your niche market, and I personally recommend a great tool for researching keywords such as Wordtracker.com so you know how to publicize your product and service.

But what are the easiest PR methods that even a beginner can use today?

Again you have to understand one thing…Trends change, people want something one day and next day their desire for your product is gone. But..you can still find what makes them tick any time of the day. You  have to learn to be flexible. Flexibility in PR will take your business very far.

Here are some simple ways to get your publicity going:

1. Write Press Releases

A great way to share about your product as a solution to your customer problems, your events you host or attend, your product launch, your coaching webinars and much more. You can talk about your customers!

2. Submit Press Releases:

Send to  the targeted list of editors with a special email asking to review your story. We have a letter we usually give to our clients that they can use to send to editors. Make sure submit your press release to online distribution services such as PRWEB or MarketWire.

3. Blog post

Post your press story on your blog as a blog post. It can add some extra content and you can link to the original press release. Also post your press release in the links or a blogroll.

4. LinkedIn

Post your press story as news to LinkedIn Groups

5. Bloggers

Contact top bloggers and ask them if you can contribute to their community with breaking news story. It must be something THEIR readers want to know. That is why it is very important to study niches and what people WANT.

6. Ezines and Newsletters.

Similar to bloggers find the best ezines in  your niche and build relationships with the editors. I prefer a simple strategy- get to know them on Facebook and read the content they post. Then contact them for permission to send the article or a press release about the topic of interest.

Example,

1. http://www.ezinesearch.com

2. http://bestezines.com

Remember be specific and focus on your customers. Make sure to remember the most important thing, “What do you want your customers to believe about your product or a business”?

How to Write A Press Release: 10 Tips To Drive More Traffic

By Tatyana Gann

Nashville TN

How many times have you thought of writing a press release for your business but then decided to turn to something you considered more effective? You considered it old fashioned method and looked for something more fancy!   How many times have you gone online to do research and found newstories about your product that someone has written that got a lot of reviews and applause.. You thought, “Oh well, next time ”

Now you are ready to write a press release to promote your business but stuck where to go?

Writing a press release is a very creative way to add more online exposure.. While back ago I did a training on  and articles, and I wanted to discuss with you the importance of press release in your personal branding and as one of the best attraction marketing methods that is forgotten and not used by many owners. I shared my story of generating few million views to my press release in 8 months. Of course not every press release I wrote got so many hits but press releases are still my favorite method. I have used press releases to promote my previous business. My current clients love press release method as their promotional approach. It gives them stability, credibility, instant traffic, long term traffic and solid buyers who share their story with their inner circle.

When you are ready to write a press release you have to be prepared. You must get your kit together of information ..Top press release submission firms charge up to 1000 dollars just to write and submit one press release.

Press releases marketing is considered one of the most forgotten marketing methods.  The online marketers are looking for more sophisticated methods (ppc, seo methods) or trendy marketing such as youtube, twitter and facebook. It is all good but not enough in my opinion.  Press releases can be a good addition to what an online marketer does on a daily basis. The excuse I hear so often, “Tatyana, I do not know how to write”.  Well, it is a pretty lame excuse.  Everyone can write. WHY? Because every day we share news, announcements or even gossips with our friends, family, church members and our business collegues.  We forget how natural it is for us to share the news or events that occured in the past few days or months.  Google loves rich content that is natural and has good flow and it will crawl its content with its powerful spiders.

How can we write a press release that are not only good content rich editorials but also bring quality traffic and buyers for our product or a business?

First of all, you need to understand that press release is about 4 words: Where, Why, Who and What. Once you understand that press release is not about selling but it is more of announcement of event, news, sharing   testimonials and real stories. Press release is about presenting solutions to a reader and grabbing their attention in the headline and then two paragraphs.. Remember stories sell not facts.

Here are few little tips to help you to write simple and quite effective press release.

1. Voice of your company: Determine what you are going to write about.  It could be event with your company, your personal achievements, announcement of the partnership with a particular company and etc.

Better way- bring solutions to the clients with your company services, products. Do not focus on your company and products. People do not care. they care if you can deliver solutions!

2. Keyword research: Research keywords you want to target. Make sure they are buying keywords not some generic keywords. You want to use keywords that a customer or a business seeker would be looking for on google or other search engine. I recommend to use services such WebCeo.com. I think it is the best keyword research software.  I love to use Spyfu.com

3.  The length of press release: Make sure you write a  press release is about 5-6 paragraphs with 4-5 sentences each to make it easier for you than counting words.

4.  Only 2 keywords and 72 characters in headline: Use important two keywords in the title or headline then summary of your press release. Repeat headline sentence in the summary then in the first paragraph.

5. SEO: distribute keywords you plan to use to the left of each paragraph and if you have an option to hyperlink that keyword to your personal site or a blog then do it. That will help with optimization. Do not overuse your keywords.  Create natural flow of keywords without too much repetition and relevant to what you say. 2-3 main keywords max per each release that you want to focus on..

6. Include your website address in round brackets in the beginning of the first paragraph to help with SEO and make sure include information with your link in the end of the press release.

Make sure you include free report, free ebook, free resources, free training video series and link them to your sites. It is a great way to build your list.

7.  Where to submit? After you write your press release, you need to submit your press release to online press release distribution sites such as PRWEB and Pitchengine.

Some are free and some will cost you money. I do not recommend free press release sites and I will explain why later in my next newsletter

We have put together special PRWeb and media press release writing and submission services packages for our clients and they really love

8. Social bookmarking– submit to social bookmarking sites such as digg, technorati, stumbleupon and more. I recommend to use services called “Social Marker”

9. Sharing is caring. Ask and it will be given. Bring value. Share with your friends, collegues via twitter, facebook or forums.  Ask them to repost it for you and leave comments on the press release. Remember comments are very important for search engines to crawl your press release and get more exposure! The press release that got a lot of traffic had many comments that turned into heated debates and it was actually fun because it allowed me to post my answers and create more interest among my viewers. I was receiving calls about my business every day just from my press releases that they saw online.

Use social media such as Facebook to spread news!

10. One press release a week can keep bad reputation a way: Write at least one press release a week if your time allows you. Just imagine you will collect over 50 press releaeses in one year. Talk about online presence!

The last tip: Take your press release and distribute offline.  Find local companies that can include your editorials in their local news papers or magazines.  You can even find good national publications that will accept your articles as contribution to their community.  Do your own research and discover targeted publications. If you write about real estate crisis, find popular real estate publications. If you want to promote your business, find magazines like “Who is Who In Nashville” as good example and it will give an option to submit article about you and what you do.

The Press Release Headlines: How To Get More Traffic and More Media Buzz

“Press Release Headlines: 7 Easy Steps To Getting More Traffic, Stirring Up Media Buzz and More Sales!”

“What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure” Samuel Jonson

Ready to write a press release? Did you know the most effective element of a press release is a headline? We live in the media world of headlines.  Headlines are telling us everything. They help us to decide what is best for us as customers.  The headlines are informational pieces for people who do not have time to read the entire story.

I love bookstores and I often go to bookstores with my two boys. They are my little bookworms. At such early age they get the power of headlines. They go to kids books or comic books section and they pay attention to headlines. Why? They know to know what is all about! They get excited if they see something they wanted to hear about.

Does it sound like something we do every time we see headlines? We wonder why cannot we write the best headlines. The problem is we focus on the financial aspect of promotion. We become sales people. We sell and sell.

But…

We must be consumers and be in their shoes. Honestly, we are already consumers and we know what we respond to.

The Key- people have little time, so your headlines must be catchy! That is one way you can get attention from media and your customers.

Here is what lovely editors want to know and what buyers buy.

People think media folks are aliens. They are same people. They have same emotions. They love life. They are customers too!

The editors will pay attention to something catchy and controversial and fun!

Often humor can be appropriate to create an exciting headline.

Here are some suggestions that helped me to reach more media with our PR platform. I wanted to share with you today.

1 Before crafting a story, take your time and read magazines to see what people are paying attention. Same they have online presence cane be good and frees time!

2. Watch TV shows and see what stories are out there and how they are presented. Give yourself time to watch them and even record them so you can watch it over and over until you see patterns/.

3. Visit websites, even Facebook groups as an example.  See w hat people complain about and also want they want to know. Write them down.

4.  Get your old magazines for this year and you will see similar stories with different catchy headlines in every issue.

5. Write short headlines about 72 characters only. If you do write longer headlines Google will not show much love and your headline end will be cut off.

6.Keywords:  use 2 keywords in the beginning of a headline.

7. Submit to top SEO directories such as Ehow.com, Wikipedia.org, Wikihow.com and for paid publicity resources use PRweb.com and Pitchengine.com They are my favorite PR tools.

Make them dynamic, exciting and worthy of reading. Ask yourself, “Will a reader care for this story and would I care if I were a customer myself?”

Remember readers love  new trends, they love to be entertained first and secondly, to be educated. With three topics I mentioned  in my previous issue, you cannot go wrong with your headlines!

Have an awesome day!

Tatyana Gann

What a slave cabin, PR and your profits have in common?

“How would you like your customers talk about your product, your company and your business?”

What a slave cabin, PR and your profits have in common?

While I was in Belle Meade plantation, enjoying the fall festival with my family, I came across the slave cabin.  I was thinking how people lived with no freedom of choice, no way out of the life they had. They were told what is best for them and what they need to do. They were property.

They thought different. They became used to the life they had and moved on living like that.  I am so grateful today we do not have slavery, but we still have people who are slaves to their old habits. When it comes to marketing, we often stuck in the past, use old marketing methods that do not any more sense. We forget the fact the old methods die and we need to discover something new.

How To Write An Exciting Press Release For A Book or A New Product

Learn how to write a press release for a book, a product, or even a new business that gets your customers inspired and excited!

Do you know how to write a press release that brings positive energy, motivating, encouraging and fun to read that you cannot wait to share the story with others?  Does your press release provides solutions to your customers in simple and exciting way?

Do your write a press release that never gets read because it is too stale and boring? Do you fall asleep while reading your own press release?

Then we got a problem….

Let me tell you a story. Last week one of my facebook friends asked me a question why she needed to write various press releases for her brand new business and her book.  She asked a question , “Tatyana, what would they do for me?” I asked her what did she want to get out of her product, her book and what was her vision. It was clear that she wanted more publicity but she needed to do homework in understanding the basic principle.

Press releases are like fashion trends. They change. Customers Change.

As you might have read online old ways of using press releases in your marketing campaigns are gone.  Press releases are like fashion trends and they changed the way customers seek and buy products today. No more faxes, no more writing to millions of journalists because honestly they get too much junk in their inbox and some good press releases never get read. NEVER! Sad,  but true..

They are  like precious beautiful flowers in the middle of desert that never get found! They never get noticed and recognized for its beauty.  That is why hoping your press release is EVEN noticed by hundreds of journalists is just a hope. Your goal is to write a press release about things people want to know more and buy more. Google is like open flower field that gives your press release advantages and inbox of an journalist is like a desert.  You got my point. Right? Do you want your story to be a story that is like this desert flower or a beautiful flower in the field along the paths where people stop by.

I get asked very often on how to write a press release that promotes a company product or consulting services especially for their new business.  Online business owners wonder what benefits do they have from such “old fashioned method” and my answer it can do a lot!

Remember this:

  • It is your footprints that you leave and it is written in stone instead of the sand. It is what everybody will see over and over.
  • It is something will give your customers opportunity to share it and buy products over and over! WHY? They can trust you. Do you love when customers trust you and you feel you want to do more for them? That is what writing a press release about: establishing instant trust because they see your intellectual abilities.

However, you must follow certain guidelines to writing an effective press release:

  • Determine the angle of the story: writing about event, product launch, expert revealing the truth.
  • Determine your buyers: what do they do on a daily and weekly basis and their lifestyle. Write what you know about them. It is your profile exercise. It will help you.
  • Your goal is to focus on your headline and press release description: that is what Google wants to see and what your customers will see. Create controversy and compelling to turn heads in YOUR direction.
  • The Purpose of Online Press Release: It is about seeking and informing buyers where to get what they need to get fast and efficient.
  • Your press release must be objective: write a press release in 3rd person. Writing about yourself will do more harm to you than you think. Keep your excitement under control.. You can express it in your quotes.
  • Write Quotes/your opinions: It is something you think about, said and mentioned to others. Use quotes as John Smith said, “your quote/opinion”
  • Media coverage: If you want to get media coverage explain why your product is unique to public and include few examples.
  • For Buyers: Give away  a FREE report, FREE e-book. Plus BONUS for the customers who act FAST.
  • 500 Words: Keep under 500 words but no less than 400 words. Your customers and media do not have time to read but they have to see if it is what THEY want. They will say YES or NO.
  • Interest score: If you were a journalist, a customer, would you read it and share with others? Make sure it has hot topic, debate, controversy. Good news is not boring stories that everyone talks about but what people are AFRAID to talk about.
  • Write with excitement and passion. Include videos, images of your products for your customers. It makes a story more personal and real! It speaks your customer language and meets their needs!
  • Where to submit a press release? There are many services available today and I personal recommend PRWeb.com for paid service MarketWire.com for regional and national distribution, especially they are great when your purpose is to get locally known first. They have great SEO press release options.

Enjoy your week!

7 Magic Steps To Writing An Effective SEO Press Releases

“Learn How Online SEO Press Releases Can Be Your Magic Hat That Gives “Wow Factor” and Attracts Customers Raving About Your Product or Service!”

Do you still believe the myth that online press releases are only written for bigger corporations with HUGE advertising budget that need publicity? The fact that these companies write online press releases because they understand the power.

It reminds me of a conversation I had with a business client of mine couple weeks ago.  She asked me how press releases can increase sales and why she could not just use PPC and Facebook ads. It was a great solid question but I heard the hesitance in her voice and I asked her question, “Do you read stories and get information on google from the trusted sources?” She said “Of course, Yes”.  As you can see you all  search online and only trust experts that give your ENOUGH information to make a decision! Readers trust NEWS! What has happened with Online Press Releases in The Past Few Years?

Major Changes Occured.  Media Relations Changed. People Changed The Way They Communicate.

The major key is to understand a customer: how they think and what they search for online. Your magic wand must affect the touchy subject on your customer mind and bring SOLUTION that nobody could bring before. I have been reading what David Meerman Scott, one of the top PR experts, talks on the subject of  the  new rules of press releases marketing, and I totally agree that  search engine optimized press releases work because they take controversial subject, turn into story and give solution!

Would it be awesome to put this MAGIC HAT on and take your magic wand and bring tons of traffic to your site?

Here is my 7 Magic Steps Formula To Writing SEO Press Releases.

Step #1 Understand press release is about connecting with your  CUSTOMERS directly.  Media is secondary and serves as a big plus for your extra publicity.

Step # 2 The foundation is still there.  The core foundation is still present. I call it ” Big 5 Ws of Press Release”- (why, where, what, who, when)

Step #3 Think of the controversial topic about your product or service and reveal it. Give your thoughts on it and how you can provide solutions fast and efficient. You become the expert in your customer eyes and credible source of information for media.

Step #4 It is your list building method. Yes, you heard me right. Majority of business owners do not use it as a list building tool but more of announcement story.. WRONG! Give way special report, free consultation, coupons  and direct them right to your website. It is your call to ACTION.  Monetize your press release right way.

Step #5 Add videos and images. They are proven to increase opt in rate and awesome for SEO and help with first page ranking.

Step #6 Add Links to the related content within the body of your press release such as your blog, your Twitter or Facebook page and of course your business website you want to market. Show your customers where to go. (believe me people still need to be directed and people love orders)

Step # 7. Try a new kid on the block called Social Media Releases. They are a proven method for branding, adding buzz to your company online presence and give you an expert status.  They are found through social networking channels.  They never replace SEO online press releases but they can do magic for your business.  Few months ago I did an blog talk radio interview with Deirdre Breakenridge the author of awesome  book I recommend everyone to read called “Putting People back into Public Relations” and we talked about the power of social media releases as online PR traffic method to increase traffic and brand awareness.

One more thing to remember that good written press releases are going to stay in search engines for months, years and your customers and media will find you  when paid ads disappear and others run out of budget to advertise their product or service. I hope you get the point and ready to use my magic secrets.
